STORY
Have you ever watched a ghost hunting show on television and automatically thought it was fabricated? What if the people behind these fake ghost hunting shows actually ran into an evil spirit and didn't know what to do? The possibilities for laughs and scares are endless.
With my movie, Altered, I want to bring a horror movie to the masses that also has some laughs. Too often horror movies take themselves too seriously and I think having a few funny characters land themselves in a scary situation would be awesome. I also want to use traditional, narrative storytelling techniques and throw the recent "found footage" style of filmmaking into the mix.
This is going to be a challenging process, but with the help of my team (and your generous support, of course), we can bring you a funny, scary and inventive movie that I'm sure you will love.
BUDGET
To really get this movie going and to cover all our bases, the team and I are wanting $2,500, but to make this without any financial worries or stresses, a budget of $4,000 would be optimal. The indiegogo, while not matching these goals, was made in hopes to gather a following and attention. Most importantly, it is the source of money which our film will ultimately rely on.
* Keeping a cast and crew happy usually comes down to a nice meal during these long, stressful days. Feeding a crew of about 25 everyday for a few weeks will prove to be expensive, as will driving around the city setting up our shots, getting to set, etc.
* To make a truly effective horror movie, it will take a number of well designed sets and realistic props to do so. The film will also be set in the 90's, so my production team will need a good chunk of change finding just the right materials to enhance each and every shot.
* With a large amount of people donating on Indiegogo, we'll have an equally large amount of gifts and prizes to give out! This will go to printing out posters, making copies of DVD's, mailing out these gifts and so on.
* Hopefully, our movie rocks a lot of socks off and is good enough to enter in a number of film festivals. To do this, entry fees and such will come into play.
ONE LAST THING
All in all, I'm so excited to make this film. We've been working on developing the story for the last seven months and it's finally time to really get going. I know this will turn out to be a fantastic little horror film, but not without your help. Please donate and help us make a badass movie!
