Angel of Mercy
Angel of Mercy is a crime-drama, that is centered around a police officer whose incompetence constantly reflects his poor inability to be a good cop. Causing his fellow officer, and brother, to be hospitalized during a failed sting operation, he finds himself relieved of active duty and reassigned to desk work. Late one night he witnesses an assault, he tries to help but falls bloody and battered, leaving him with a traumatic head injury.
He awakens to a new-found ability erupting within him: a elaborate memory able to account for the past, and future. In order to access this he must see or hear something between past and future. He uses this ability to prove his worth and most importantly uncover the true mystery of who shot his brother. Later realizing that it’s not a one man show, but a demonic cult that takes action: as the Angel of Mercy.
What inspired me to write “Angel of Mercy”
As a young child I always had a fascination with crime, solving mysteries, and the intrigue of the chase. The reality is enhanced and it’s almost like getting to be a detective or a cop, it’s a feeling I always loved to enjoy when watching a movie. The movie Chinatown, directed by Roman Polanski is one of my all-time favorites. It’s very slow and methodical and each clue brings you to something bigger. You feel as if you are J.J. Gittes.
It was summer break, I was around ten years old. I was bored and hanging out with my buddies Sam and Robbie. We decided to walk over to a nearby river and build a bridge across, because there was really nothing else to do. So, we built the bridge with rocks, sticks, leaves or whatever we could find. After completing that, we began walking up and down the river, we stumbled upon an old car rusting away in pieces. We began creating stories as if Bonny and Clyde had been here and left a suitcase full of money for us to find.
After creating the scenario in our heads, we decided to explore the river more thoroughly…
We didn’t find much just old rotting tires, plastic bags, pipes, a couple quarters…it wasn’t until I tripped over something in the water. An old bag, it was black and covered in mud. I didn’t think much of until I ripped it open…
It started bleeding hundred dollars bills, twenty-dollar bills, tens, fives…I couldn’t believe what we found. I thought I was J.J. Gittes trying to piece together this mystery… and that’s when my obsession for mysteries and crime was born.
- IMAGINE a cross between “Sherlock Holmes”, infused with “Mindhunter” and a splash of the nostalgic 70s…

Shooting Style
The Godfather of crime scene photography, Arthur Fellig also known as “Weegee”
is known for his gritty, sensationalistic photographs of crime scenes in New York City between 1936 and 1947. His distinctive raw style is an example of my directing approach.

Not only is this just the start of “Angel of Mercy” it will eventually be a mini-series of 8 episodes. We will be shooting a proof on concept to pitch to investors for the near future. As of right now the first pilot has been written and is still undergoing a few minor rewrites.
This isn’t just an ordinary type of TV show like others on the air. It's centered around the idea of brotherhood, renewal, and integrity. The premise of the show is Sawyer McCormick’s new-found ability and how he uses that to overcome obstacles, to prove his worth, and show his brother James McCormick he’s much more than an incompetent cop.
