ABOUT ART HOPE
ART HOPE is a non-profit charity project devoted to creating art for a good cause. Every 18 months, a series of inspired artworks are created by artist KA in collaboration with other creative individuals. It's aim is to raise money specifically for charities that support schools or kids with the focus on bringing inspiration and hope to those in need through art. For our Art Hope 2012 exhibition, the theme is "BE". We are proud to have Kids4Kids as our beneficiary charity this year and to have Hyde as our venue sponsor. The funds raised will go to seed Kids4Kids's 'Art for a Cause' 2012/2013 project(which encourages kids to use creativiy through art for a cause) to be officially launched on Nov 24th, 2012 at the Kids4Kids Day.

Your donation and funds raised will be used to support the Kids4Kids "Art For Cause" Program 2012/2013 in the following ways:
- Renovation of Art Room @Lok Sin Tong (LST) primary school in Kowloon City
-Purchase necessary quality art supplies and equipment
-Start a weekly 'Art in the Community' program for LST students and kids in the neighborhood
-Support the organisation of 'Art For Cause" 2012/13 art competition that engage kids to use their artistic talents to create and give back.

ABOUT "BE" EXHIBITION

What is the idea behind the ‘BE’ exhibition?
The idea is to capture the creative spirit of 10 individuals in Hong Kong in order to show their true state of being while they are engaging in their chosen creative field or life path. We will attempt to capture this invisible creative spirit by using a series of photos while the artist or creative is at work, to show the transient nature of the outward form and the power of the inner spirit. Using the photos as a source of inspiration, the essence of these will then be transformed into a series of powerful paintings produced by KA.
Who are these individuals?
Whatever their chosen path maybe eg. music, writing, design, painting, acting photography or social cause; these individuals all have one thing in common – an intense passion to create their own life. They know this is what their hearts call for and persistently want to pursue it in their lives. It is this powerful “being-ness” within the individuals that we would like to capture and share with the world.
What message is this exhibition trying to convey?
Creativity is derived from beyond the mind, from an invisible universal force. We hope to spread this force to all corners of Hong Kong and beyond. To inspire those who live in this mind and form dominated society to let go of their fears and to have the courage to embrace their child-like essence and just "BE"who they truly are.
