Inspired by the steel I-beams of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Beams Chair is made from wood I beams, which reduce the weight of the structure while enhancing the strength of the chair.
Why wood? Metal is cold
and heavy; plastic is indifferent and artificial. However, wood is natural and
gives a welcoming sense of warmth.
Beams Chair 1.0 was
created in 2012. It was selected by the 2013 IMM Cologne [D3]
Contest, one of the most prestigious international furniture design
competitions for emerging designers in the world. At that time, the Beams Chair
was produced by Bächer Bergmann GmbH. The production process of the Beams Chair
1.0 is shown below.

We have taken three years to refine the design of Beams Chair with feedback from imm Cologne. Now, the Beams Chair is more comfortable and ergonomic than ever.

EAJY designers Eric and
Johnny were college buddies. They dreamed of having their own furniture brand
so they came to Germany to further their study and hone their skills. Along the
way their designs had been selected by 2012 and 2013 IMM Cologne [D3]
Contests. Their confidence grew and finally founded EAJY Design Studio in 2015.

1.Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship worldwide with free shipping to Europe, North America (Canada, US, and Mexico), and Asia (Except Pakistan and Yemen).
2.How do I choose more than one perk?
The Indiegogo system is not set up to choose multiple perks at one time. If you would like to choose more than one perk, you will need to select each one separately. If you face difficulties, please email info@eajy.de and use “Ordering problems on Indiegogo” as the subject line.
3.Can I choose different colors in two- or Four-chair perk?
Yes. Even though the Indiegogo system is not set up to allow that, you
still can choose a perk first and then send an email to info@eajy.de by indicating “Color Choices on Indiegogo” in the subject line. The
default color choice for the two- or four-chair perks is natural.
4.How can I submit a bulk order, if I need a large
number of units?
For all bulk order inquiries, please email info@eajy.de and use “Bulk Order Inquiry" as the subject.
5. When will the order be delivered?
We will do our best to deliver the order to you as soon
as possible. The first batch of 200 chairs will be shipped around
March, 2016 (see the estimated schedule above).
6.Will I be able to get a refund?
Pre-orders are not refundable. By making a contribution to this campaign, you acknowledge that you understand that you are contributing to a work-in-progress and not making a direct purchase. For more details please see Indiegogo's Terms of Use.
7.What should I know about the shipping?
Items are shipped via DHL. For Non-EU buyers, please note the following:
Import duties, taxes and any other additional customs charges are not included in the purchase price of the order. The client is responsible for covering these costs.
Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior making a purchase.
These charges are normally administered and collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - please do not confuse these charges for additional shipping charges.
