Short Summary

Blue Anarchy is an Oakland-based punk rock band featuring Rachel McGuire, lead songwriter/vocals/guitar, Quin Flannery, bass/vocals and Gabe Garza, drums/vocals.

Blue Anarchy was formed in the summer of 2014 by cousins Rachel McGuire and Gabriel Garza as a means to express their belief that music can heal and change the world. Bass player Quin Flannery joined in 2015 and their future is bright as they seek to override oppression, gender inequality and the patriarchal system to speak their musical truth. For the past 18 months, they have performed at private events, fundraisers, music camps and often at the famed 924 Gilman, where they have opened for many of the Bay Area's best known and loved punk bands.  They write their own original songs which take a strong stand in support of feminism, gender equality, and social justice. Their music has already sparked interest from a record company and they are in negotiations for their first recording contract!  At age 16, 13 and 11, they are on their way!

What We Need

Hello Indigogo peeps!  We are going on our FIRST tour at the invitation of the great punk band Sarchasm, and we're very excited!  We need to raise money to support our 6-day Northwest tour....gas, food, lodging (though we plan to camp out alot) is expensive!  Our parents will help, but as anyone who knows, a road trip/tour playing music in small venues does not make much money, and we know what a valuable experience this will be in our growth as musicians!
7/20- Ashland, OR @Oberon's Tavern ~ 7/21- Portland, OR @TBA
7/22 - Olympia, WA @ Le Voyeur  ~ 7/23- Bellingham, WA @Make.Shift
7/24- Seattle, WA @Skylark Club ~ 7/25- Bend, OR @Black Spot Collective

The Impact

We know we are kids, but we are very serious about music and our songs.   And what Blue Anarchy means to our growing base of fans, and to us.  Music heals and brings people together, and the more we play together, write new songs in the studio, or perform at our shows, the more we see that we have something to say and we do it with heart and with soul.  We want to change the world and we don't see any reason why we can't!  We care about issues that mean something to us and to other young people, and to the world!  Please help us meet our goal and thank you so much!

What We Need

$2,000 would help feed us, maybe once every few days get a hotel room, pay for gas and other expenses for 6 people.  Each kid/teen will be accompanied by an adult.  We have saved $600 for this tour, and in ideal world, we would want to raise more than the $2,000 but we will be so grateful to you for your support! In exchange, we promise to send you a copy of our first CD coming soon! Or stickers, a T-shirt, and even possibly play at your event!  We aren't rich, but we have alot of heart!  Remember, our parents are supporting us 100% and they will be in charge of all monies raised.  They make it possible for us to follow our dream.
We have already played at many benefit events in support of causes we believe in, and we can do that for your cause too!  All you have to do is ask.
  • If you are unable to help us reach our goal at this time, please share this campaign with others, and tell people you know about Blue Anarchy.  A very big shoutout to Sarchasm, who have invited us on this tour and who gave us our first big break at 924 Gilman!  You guys rock!
