Pre-Order our LP. People Are The Worst!
Hello there reader, We're Cheap Meat, a distinguished Alternative Rock band from London, England. We released an EP back in 2016, got lots of lovely press, played some amazing shows, and then Back in 2018, we finished recording our debut LP.
2 years have passed, and a lot has happened:
- We stopped working with the one we were signed to!
- We lost our booking agent!
- We started our own label, The Jerk Store!
- Matt had two kids!
- Pete started producing and performing Makola!
- Ross went to Edinburgh as a comedian!
- Ross and Pete got diagnosed with mental health issues!
So we've been busy living life and dealing with all that comes with it. We're immensely proud of this album, and we want to give it a good chance in the world. We've fronted the cash to get PR for it to help spread the word, but we need your help...
Here's where you come in.
We want to press this record physically; it's got some beautiful artwork designed by Chris Hilton and illustrated by Stephen Alan Yorke, it deserves a physical pressing. But to do that costs money and that's where you can help!
A 180gram vinyl run with good sleeves for the artwork costs around £1500. We've already spent around that on PR, and we've spent thousands more making it, which is why the target is at £2000 (but by all means lets go over that!)
We want to keep it to a nice limited run for the folks that supported us. (And frankly, 150 is probably pushing it!)
But we don't want to give you the vinyl, folks like merch; we sure do so we've gone and made some!
You can get t-shirts, tote bags, posters, and for the super cool gang, an hour with us on zoom.
Any money received goes back into recouping the costs of pressing the records, not to mention the thousands of pounds we spent, making it, the music videos, touring, and countless other ways bands can spend money.
Risks & Challenges
Not many risks here, the only issue would be if the vinyl pressing takes longer than we anticipate, I've put March as a rough deadline. If we hit our target before the 29th of January, I'll get the order in sooner. The sooner it's in, the quicker we'll get them, but we're an indie label, so there are big rich major labels ahead of us.
If we don't hit our target, but you've pre-ordered the album, we're still going to press it, so you'll get a copy of the album no matter what. Just means we'll be on stale bread and soup for the start of 2021.
Alright, I'm in. I've given you some sweet cash, now what?
Spread the word! Share this campaign! Tell people about us, your new favourite band!
