Updates at Bottom!!!
What's this about?
We all love monsters, aliens, and scary stories. Great shows from the past like the Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Night Gallery , brought us weekly campy horror chills, and it's time for a return to that format. Now, one of the modern masters of Horror is going to give you what you want. A monster you can reach out and
TOUCH! And, A season of horror featuring what could be tomorrow's biggest stars, and maybe a few surprise guest stars. You can be part of making that happen.
Who is behind this?
Cleve Hall was born on June 22, 1959 and grew up in Florida next to a family cemetery. His mother regularly took him to see low-budget horror films. After seeing the film Godzilla vs. the Thing Cleve built a Godzilla costume that caught the attention of Six Flags, who hired him to build another costume.
Cleve started his own special effects company, Imagimation Productions, and worked on numerous commercials and theater. in the 1980s he moved to Hollywood and worked on many low-budget films, including Pee Wee's Big Adventure, in which he played Godzilla in a suit he had created himself.
Although digital special effects became more popular in the 1990s, Cleve continued using physical based effects and received an Emmy nomination for his work on Yo Gabba Gabba. He also created props for bands such as KISS, Insane Clown Posse and Alice Cooper. For KISS he created Gene Simmons' chest armor.
Cleve Hall starred in the SyFy reality television series Monster Man . Notable clients as seen on Monster Man have been Sean S. Cunningham, Tony Randel, The Asylum, and Richard Elfman.
How is this project funded? What's the funding for?
Making a Short film format web series based around monsters and practical movie effects can be surprisingly expensive - there are numerous costs involved with doing a project properly, including, locations, actor and crew salaries, and of course, making monsters. Not surprisingly though, it is much cheaper than Hollywood big budget behemoths.
Over the years Cleve and Constance Hall have learned to be flexible and resourceful with budgets. Every cent raised for this project is going into the production, so the more we raise, the bigger we can go with this project.
Also to put things in perspective, we're asking for less than the cost of the budget for 2 episodes of the original Outer Limits.
What if we Don't reach our goals?
The goal here is to get this series up and running so eventually it will become self supporting. We will work with whatever you give us and make it happen because this is our passion and making monsters is how we live our lives.
What if we exceed our goals?
Bigger Badder Monsters! More episodes! Let the horror never end!!!
Why a webseries?
We strongly believe that the future of entertainment is in web based series. Everything is heading towards digitally distributed content and the ability to see true HD video will be found on channels like youtube. There will be a new short film bi-weekly and every week there will be teasers, trailers, and behind the scenes!
What's the status of the production?
We are currently in pre-production. Scripts have been written. Crews are being assembled. Production is scheduled to start June 15th, with the 1st season finishing late 2013.
