Not to get too cocky or anything...
...but welcome aboard!
I’m Steph Walsh, producer of the upcoming comedy puppet web series Cluck!. Along with my extremely talented and hard working director Vincent Chen and writer Lucy Nicklan, we are creating a childhood dream of ours, a Muppet-style, puppet film, split into a 3 part web series – and we want you to come along for the ride.
We are passionate QUT Film, Television and New Media Production majors with a vivid vision and an unquenchable thirst for challenge! We’ve spent close to 9 months developing Cluck! and are creating something worth getting really get excited about!
Cluck! is so much more than a fun student film project for us. It is what 3 years worth of University classes; sleepless weeks on set and all-nighters in the editing labs have amounted to. It’s our calling card to the industry and a venture we are ecstatic to be sharing.
THE STORY:
Julian Raymond is an egomaniac. His girlfriend Sonia is sick of him. But before she breaks up with him she gives him one last chance to change. She gives him a live chicken to take care of for a week. If we can endure this humiliating ordeal then maybe she’ll keep him around. Only thing is that the chicken is a maniacally suicidal slaughterhouse escapee who’s seeking retribution for the oppression of his species. Oh and By the way, Did I mention the chicken is a puppet?
THE PRODUCTION:
In 5 short weeks, the Cluck! crew will be rolling out into our first week of shooting, and we need your help in order to make it happen!
While the project is super exciting - a puppet protagonist really complicates the filming process, and takes time..., which we all know, takes money. We need to raise $5000 via Indiegogo to assist with the production’s expenses - the puppet, green screen and specialist camera equipment required being the main costs.
That is why we are here, asking you, our families, friends and kind strangers to dig deep and contribution. To show our extreme gratitude and thanks, we're offering a wide range of Cluck! related perks. Contributions will help us cover the expenses of the production and more importantly it will help us deliver a web-series to be proud of.
Your cash is our Cluck! so don't be cheap! Get giving.
THE TARGET:
To encourage people to give, Vincent and I are going to give up (not on the project... don't you worry!) As soon as we hit $2,500 we will become Vegetarian for the remainder of the campaign- but that is not all. When we reach the goal of $5,000, we will turn VEGAN until our indiegogo time runs out - the quicker we reach these goals, the longer our challenge lasts.
We will also be keeping regular production videos documenting our journey - so you won't miss out on any of the fun.
So put us to the test and help us bring this mother-clucker, to life.
