Hi! My name is Emma. I am a Storyboard Artist and Illustrator from the Midwest that loves animated films and baking. I've done freelance work and run an online store selling pins, stickers, and charms of things that I like. This is going to be my second crowdfunder and very first plush project.

What is a Concha?

Some people may be asking, "What exactly is a Concha?" A Concha is a Mexican sweet bread. (Also called pan dulce.) It is made of two parts, the bread and the topping. The topping is in a pattern that is caused by a stamp. Sometimes the topping is a different flavor, such as chocolate. They are usually sold in bakeries called Panaderia. You can eat them with coffee or, if you're like my dad, with soda.

Meet Conchita the Concha!

Who is Conchita? Conchita is an sassy piece of pan dulce. Her home in the bread cabinets of a panaderia, evading customers to live another day! She lives with her Mama Concha, brother Conchito, and her pet marranito, Grunir. She's mischievous and adventure follows wherever she goes. 

Conchita was created out of my love for pan dulce. Being a huge staple of my childhood and one of my favorite baked goods, I wanted to design a plushie that could be enjoyed by others the same way I enjoy them.

STRETCHGOALS:

If we surpass our goals, there will be stretch goals! The following are goals set in place!

If we reach $15,000, Conchita's little brother, Conchito, will be unlocked! He is a chocolate Concha who loves to follow around his big sister! He will be available as an add on in the backerkit survey.

If we reach $35,000, Mama Concha will be unlocked! This plushie is going to be much bigger than the other two. Mama Concha is an vanilla concha who's hugs are as warm as her heart. She would be available as an add on in the backetkit survey.

The funding for this project will go towards the manufacturing, shipping, fees, and to pay for the labor to get Conchita out to you all.

I will be updating this crowd fund very often, so please check your inbox often to stay up to date on the project. Updates will also be available on the project page.

What if the project goes over the goal price?

If we surpass the initial goal, than more stretch goals will be unlocked. The funding will go towards buying stock for the plushies to be available on my online shop and to pay for packing workers as well. The higher the amount, the more we will be able to do!

What if we don't reach the goal?

If the goal is not reached, the project will have failed and not be completed. If you backed and paid, you will get a refund. 

Risks and challenges

Due to the pandemic there is a lot of uncertainty on production and shipping times. We have factored in the fastest shipping we can offer and we are working with very reliable companies for production. In case of any unforeseen delays we have set the completion date out a bit more than when we actually aim to have all items shipped. If any delays come up all backers will be notified via IndieGogo.

Depending on how many backers we get I will either be fulfilling these orders myselves or with the help of friends! Either way all rewards will be fulfilled as fast as possible! These plush are expected to arrive to you by Summer of 2022. This is my second crowd funder but first plushie design, so there will be much learning to do throughout the process. I will greatly appreciate your support and patience! Thank you!
