Short Summary
The goal of Cong is to create, promote and invest in good art in China. Now, you are probably wondering, why do we believe that this so important? Damon of Athens said, “give me the songs of a nation, and it doesn’t matter who writes it’s laws” We believe that art- in the form of music, movies, television, comic books, video games, etc. – art is the most powerful worldview shaper in a nation. In the same way that bad art will have a negative impact on society in making it more violent, immoral, etc. , we believe that good art can actually transform an entire nation into looking more like heaven.
We believe that China is at a point that is unparalleled in all of history. For the first time, it has opened up it’s doors to the creation of media, and the markets are exploding. Online video consumption is almost twice that in America, movie sales are doubling every year, and Hollywood is scrambling to invest in Chinese films. We want to see China become one of them most beautiful nations on the earth and a blessing to the rest of the world, and we believe that we can do something differently in China than we did in America. China is currently where America was about 20 years ago, but in America we just sat back and let the negative media take over, and have watched our culture fall to pieces in light of it. We have a chance to re-do things in China, and now is the time to do things differently. We believe that if the loudest voices in the culture are promoting truth, goodness and beauty, the entire nation will follow.
Here is how we plan to accomplish our goal:
Firstly, we want to create a circle of artists who can work together to create good art. We know that collaboration and teamwork is the key to effectiveness, and so we want to find artists that are already doing this, and bring them together on a regular basis to brainstorm, and work together to create the most powerful, beautiful and influential art possible.
Secondly, we want to equip these artists in whatever ways we can so that nothing is holding them back from their dreams. We plan to do this through mentoring them, connecting them to resources, and helping invest financially in their projects.
Thirdly, we want to raise up even more good artists. We plan to do this through running creative arts summer camps where we train people in things like acting, songwriting, movie production, etc. We also want to design an online curriculum where we can train even more people in the arts.

- This first seed money you are donating will help us get the initial basics off the ground, including legal fees for Chinese and American incorporation, travel and marketing for our initial artist and investor meetings and projects.
- By supporting our initial launch, you will become a part of our journey and join our inner circle of friends who will get a front row seat as we develop and produce good, true and beautiful artists and projects! You will get t-shirts to spread the news, and be awarded certificates of appreciation you can display on your wall at home or in the office, as well as space on our website as sponsors.
The Impact
This is not the first time we have developed and produced works of art focused on the good, true and beautiful. Our co-founder, Chris has helped produced award winning feature films. Our co-founder Kirsten Rodgers is the daughter of Mark Rodgers who founded Wedgwood Circle nearly a decade ago (www.wedgwoodcircle.com) From the Wedgwood Circle website: "Since it's inception in 2007, Wedgwood Circle has worked to cultivate through investment opportunities...over 22 conferences and gatherings in Nashville, New York, Austin, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Dallas, Denver, and Los Angeles. It's Kirsten's passion to bring to China through her own company the insight and pioneering spirit her father inspired.
Risks & Challenges
Our network of artists and investors both in America and Asia is in place. Our primary challenge at this phase is the initial funding of our kick-off circle meeting this summer with them in Asia. The expense of this first event includes but the renting of a meeting space, and travel to China. The real risk will be taken by our circle of investors and artists who will make creative and financial ventures with calculated, professional expertise. Your support at this stage is vital.
