Hi, I’m daena! I’m an indie pop/rock artist and songwriter from Old Bridge, NJ, currently based in Nashville TN, and I am in the process of creating my first ever full length record, Alter Ego! It’s a collection of songs about finding yourself through a quarter-life crisis and navigating life in your twenties - from the things I’m most confident about, to my deepest insecurities, to the people I love most - and it’s set to release this fall. By pre-ordering the album, buying a t-shirt, or choosing any other perk listed on the right, you’re helping fund this set of songs that are so close to my heart, and what I feel are some of my best to date.
 

My Story

Let me tell you a little bit more about me. I’ve been writing songs since I was 14 years old, and it sounds cheesy, but as soon as I found that outlet everything changed for me. I’ve come a long way from that awkward middle schooler writing songs about the Jonas Brothers, but I’m still that same kid at heart who just wants to share her passion with the world.



In the ten years since moving to Nashville, I’ve realized that writing, creating and performing songs as a career wasn’t just a pipe dream. I could really do this. I’ve developed my sound, found a community and most of all, written more songs than I could have ever imagined - which is why I’m finally ready to release my first full-length album, Alter Ego.

Crafting these songs with my co-writers and producer, Alexander Frieden, has challenged me to be more vulnerable and true to myself than I ever thought I could be in my music. These songs tell my story and I am honored to share it with you.

I’ve been inspired endlessly by some of my favorite artists and bands, including (but not limited to): Soccer Mommy, Taylor Swift, MUNA, Charli Adams, Conan Gray, Maggie Rogers, Liz Phair, Phoebe Bridgers, HAIM, Sasha Sloan and SO many others. ​Timeline

My producer Alexander Frieden and I are currently finalizing the album tracklist and working on the lead single. We plan to track the rest of the songs throughout April and May, and have them all ready to go to mix by June. I plan on releasing the first single this summer, and depending on funding and schedules, I’ll continue to release 1-2 more singles along the way before dropping the whole album by September/October 2023. The work has just begun, and having this much time out really allows me to have a thorough approach and not skimp on any part of the process. This is a flexible timeline, and it will naturally mold to what is going to be best for this project and for me as an artist.

Risks & Challenges

Making an album is a constantly evolving endeavor. There are endless moving parts and each have the potential to throw off plans as they were. I have learned so much since releasing my first EP in 2020, and I know that I'll be able to be flexible and creative in finding thoughtful solutions to any complications that may arise.
