The Story:
Decked is about Bobby (10) who is looking for acceptance from his older Brother James. The story is set in a small Northern working class town in the 1960s during the Mod and Rocker subculture years. In an attempt to impress his brother and mod community Bobby ends up in some trouble and it’s his brother who needs to help him.
The film deals with themes to do with family, identity and subculture.
The film is really about the impact in which our family has on our lives and during the film we aim to explore complicated family relationships.
What We Need & What You Get
We have a very ambitious crew and we have all contributed £500 each but our budget is currently at £11,000.
We are currently in the process of fundraising through events such as, fundraising parties, cake sales etc. However this isn't enough, With your help we can make this very ambitious film.
We are a dedicated crew, who work long hours to produce excellent work.
In return we are offering a range of perks such as, Posters, Dvd/Blu Ray copy of the film, Signed copy of the script, concept art and many more.
For those going all out, Props and outfits and a day on set with the cast and crew and all of the above.
As you can see with our Pie Chart, The majority is going towards Camera Equipment, Accommodation and Production design.
The Impact
Often the Northern working class are falsely represented or demonised. Part of the impact of this project is to give better representation. The story is still relevant today as the issues Bobby face such as class entrapment are still relevant to a lot of people. This is a story about working class heritage and it’s important to correctly portray this on screen.
The crew is looking to create the best film possible, but we need your help in order to create the film we are envisioning.
This is a highly ambitious project that requires high amount of production design in order to deliver a film that is realistic. This is our last graduation film and is going to be what could help us to enter the industry and pursue our passion. This is a film we are keen to enter into festivals.
Visual Style
When creating a visual style for Decked the team decided to use social realism elements and mix with modern cinematic conventions. We plan on using real locations, street casting, naturalistic lighting and creating a piece that is very character driven.

A lot of people ask me why producing, Isn’t it boring? And my response is i love it!
When I set my mind to something I do 110% of my best ability, producing really isn't easy but it's something I enjoy, I can be involved from start to finish. I get to meet the cast first and see the locations first.
When I first read Decked, I knew this was my Grad film, it's instantly caught my attention, I have a little sister and I can relate to Bobby in a similar way!
"I want this film to be amazing and I will do my best to make it!"
Holly Wright
I'm going to keep this short and sweet like me. I've enjoyed being a 1st Assistant Director for the better part of a year, I'm glad I can bring my energy to this project. 'Decked' is a unique script that relives the 1960's.
The Cinematography Team: Xinlu QI, Rian Shafi and Adam Waugh (Left to right)
The cinematography showreel:
Jordan Gott :Production designer & Vlad Mihalache: The Art Director
Jordan & Vlad are the Designers. There roles involve trying to build the world of the film, construct, designing the sets, setting the locations, choosing costumes & trying to recreate the 1960's.
Amber Sidbury: Sound Designer & Joe Redman: Editor
Risks & Challenges
Decked has a variety of challenges we need to overcome, the first being it is going to be very expensive to make. As it is set in the 60s, we want it to be as authentic as possible.
We are using Real locations and real people. We are traveling back and forth a lot and need to get our entire crew up North multiple times for Casting,Scouting Locations & Recce's.
We are giving back to the community by offering the role of Bobby to real people, we have visited school and community centers in search of Bobby and we are currently in the second stages of casting.
Our crew is currently at 11 people but we have the help of another 13 Wonderfull people. Who we also need to accommodate and Cater for.
