On Thursday January 9 2014, Dennis Miller went to work to repair someone's plumbing. That day his family lost everything to a house fire except the clothes he was wearing. Dennis is a single father and grandfather; and small business owner operator, his family would appreciate our help. Friends I ask each of you to imagine how they must feel and challenge you to donate $10-$20 dollars, or $50. Please consider helping this family:
Dear Friends,
Some
of you may have seen the post that Dennis' home burned completely this
afternoon. I have just finished speaking with him to ensure all are safe
and they have a place to stay (with family) for the immediate future.
Status:
The fire department is still on the scene as the fire occurred about 1:30 PM.
Dennis
and Nicholas (son) lost everything--clothes, toiletries, personal
possessions...all. They only have what they were wearing today.
His daughter, who comes by to assist daily, lost items of clothing for herself, her husband, and their children.
How you can assist:
Donations can be dropped off at Awards 4 U (either location)
Clothes:
Men's Pants 38x30 (Dennis prefers regular cut Wrangler)
Men's Shirts XL (Dennis for work and warmth immediately)
Men's Pants 30x32 (Jeans for Nicholas for school no designs on them)
Men's Shirts M (3 button polo type for school--no designs)
Outer wear, casual (sweats, etc.), sox, sleep wear, etc.
They will need shoes and other things, these are most immediate.
Other:
If you wish to donate cash-please contact French, Larry, or me for process. This may change and we become more organized.
If you wish to give gift cards, consider Walmart, Target, etc. where there are a variety of products.
French is coordinating Board (club) contribution.
Thank you for being there for Dennis and keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
