Daxx has lost his powers and he has many unanswered questions...

"What's left?"

Twenty years ago, a group of men and women woke up with super-human abilities of unknown origin. Ranging from amazingly awesome to absolutely arbitrary, some set out for good, while others only used their new found abilities for their own selfish reasons. Ten years ago, all the powers vanished, just as suddenly, and all that remains is the aftermath of short-termed superiority.

Depowered is the story of mediocre superhero, Daxx, now turned mediocre everything, and his struggles, post-powers. A regular at the super-hero conventions, and an even bigger regular at the post show "barcon", Daxx is trying to promote his book and make a living. A particularly bad hometown show has him searching his past mistakes to see if he can ever recover.

"Who am I?"

My name is Jon Westhoff, Social Worker and part-time writer/publisher for Part-Time Comix. I am returning to IGG for our first mini-series, Depowered!  This will be a mini-series, co-created with my long time collaborator, Bobgar Ornelas (Child Possession Services, Bulletproof Chicken). Bob is back on logo design, covers and interior art for the book, with the intro to our characters. As Bob and I were creating the book, we knew we would need a larger team to complete the story. We have brought in the amazing Reinaldo Lay (Confidence) to complete Daxx's tale in issue 1 and beyond! Bringing it all together, Don Cardenas is crushing the colors on our main story. If that wasn't enough of a great team, Mat Nixon will be bringing his amazing talent to a crucial "side story".  Chuck Pineau has already completed his editorial review for issues 1 and 2 and is already helping to take our first mini-series to the next level. We have even added a pin-up for John Boren (Sully)! 25 pages of content!

"What's next?"

The plan is to publish issue 1 and proceed to the rest of the series in mid-2022. The money raised here goes 100% towards the art team and printing books(shipping and supplies of course) With your help we can print issue 1 and have a few extra copies to sell. If we go over our goal, we will start to progress on the rest of the series, which could mean we don't have to return to crowdfunding and can set up direct orders. We are realistic, we know it is hard to keep up with an indie series. We currently plan for this to be 3 issues, but would love to explore that characters more, if there is interest in our characters, and expand the series to 4 or even 5 issues. How this campaign goes will go a long way in determining our plan. 

"Why now?"

The book is about 90% complete and will be complete by the Jan 2022. As an Independent publisher with no current distribution contracts, our best chance to get our books out is with public support from indie fans, like you. We have had great success on crowdfunding in the last year (and historically with King Bone Press) and as long as there is interest, we want to utilize it as a "preorder" system. Jon(and many great contributors) has never failed to deliver on any successfully funded crowdfunding and these campaigns are a fun and unique way to engage with the comics community. Anyone who preordered via our site will receive any stretch goals or bonus items and we thank you for the support. 

Beyond that, the more successful we are in this final campaign in 2021, we can prepare for an even more exciting 2022!
