Short Summary
"Dia de los Muertos" is a film currently in development by Fernanda de Teresa, Jon La Grace and Klaudia Oliver. The film is a story that highlights the importance of authenticity in your life and the power of making the choice of self-transformation.
- Fernanda de Teresa is a recognized novelist, poet and writer having been 1 of 3 proteges selected in the lifetime of globally-acclaimed film, tv and play writer Hugo Arguelles. Jon La Grace is an award-winning producer and co-writer collaborating on this story of post-modern zeitgeist. Klaudia Oliver is a "force of nature" and cultural ambassador of San Miguel de Allende and involved in the production of the film.
- This campaign is to fund our research, writing and development of the script. As well as our business setup costs and legal costs.
- This film is both personal and cultural and is the manifestation of a dream we started over 1 year ago, following the first year of "La Calaca" a festival centered about the Day of the Dead in San Miguel de Allende, voted Conde Nast's "Best City in the World to Live In 2013."
What We Need & What You Get
Your donation will be for the following:
- We are seeking $15,000 in order to develop the script and shooting script for this film, business and legal costs and overhead. Once the script is completed, we will be seeking the film to be shot in 2014 with completion of the film in 2015.
- By providing this initial funding, you will be helping us achieve our dream of bringing the beauty of this story, it's message and the cultural importance of the Day of the Dead to a larger audience. Additionally, for those qualified, we will be offering special invitations of further funding with film credits.
- All funds received will be used in the development of the script including research and writing, location scouting and writing expenses. Our goal is to develop this film from beginning to end. We are not seeking to sell the script, but instead develop the film ourselves.
The Impact
Why this film is important.
- The film is about personal authenticity and following your path. We believe this is a universal message and one that can reach a wide audience --- live your authentic life and seek to transform yourself to your own truth. Set in Mexico and the United States, it brings to the screen the cultural beauty of Mexico's Day of the Dead and San Miguel de Allende, voted "The Best City in the World to Live In 2013" by Conde Nast magazine. The story travels from the wide-sand beaches of Oaxaca to storybook San Miguel de Allende and Michoacan, the transformative home of the monarch butterflies.
- Each of us are "creators" and "builders of dreams" with success in creating stories, films, commercials, events and festivals that have touched the hearts and minds of many people all around the world.
- Help us create our dream and bring it to the big screen to share with everyone.
