What's a Dice Sigil? A Tabletop Hotdish?
Thank you for visiting our fundraiser page! We are Tabletop Hotdish, a small, independent print shop that specializes in working with independent designers in search of handmade print services with a personal touch. We love being a "one-stop shop" for fellow independent artists and designers, and as we continue to take on new projects we are enthusiastic about collaborating to expand our services based on what people are looking for. So far, this has included digital and graphic design, layout services, physical printing and foil embossing, and shipping fulfillment. Now we're ready to add a new item to our production capabilities: Buttons!
The Dice Sigil is an original design created by Aven McConnaughey. It's one of our logos! It is reminiscent of the different polyhedral dice outlines and was also inspired by that anxiety-soothing breathing animation you have probably seen in an animated GIF somewhere. The Invocation of Pride buttons specifically are based around pride flags for minority and marginalized identities. The design is enhanced with foil embossing, which will give each button a beautiful shimmer!

We selected the flags for the graphics for this campaign to intentionally represent a spectrum of ones that are seen more commonly and ones that might be relegated to stretch goals or add-ons for similar campaigns. We wanted to emphasize that we can have options for everyone without listing every pride flag we could find online. Since we'll own all the equipment to make other designs, it's super easy to add new flags. If your flag isn't shown here, let us know and we'll see if we can add it for you! (Check the FAQ for more info on adding new flags.)

Why do we need your help?
Tabletop Hotdish is a small design and print shop that was created by Aven and Adam McConnaughey in response to our attempts at finding print shops that could add special touches and unique designs for small print runs without breaking the bank. We started small, with some basic zine printing in January of 2021. Since then, we've added several different services, usually when a potential client has an ambitious idea and we rise to the occasion with them. The foil printing featured on these buttons was one of the first services we added!
We are now looking to add button-making to our repertoire for several reasons: to take advantage of the cute and bold graphic designs we create, and to have yet another option to offer to small creators, especially in the TTRPG community. We could buy an $80 button maker and give it our best go, but with our goal to create sustainable art made to last, we are hoping to raise funds to purchase a machine that will last us years to come.
Backers for the campaign will all receive at least one of these gorgeous buttons. Some backer levels will also get a matching notebook, 40 pages, 5.5"x8.5", foil cover, staple-bound. Simple as that!
What does helping us mean?
Tabletop Hotdish is a LGBTQIA+ and disability-owned small business. It's just us two out here! We think we're providing a fairly unique niche in the TTRPG community, and your support will help us survive!
Plus, if this project funds, we will have our own button maker afterwards, and be able to include buttons in future projects. We will have seized another cute little means of production.
Tabletop Hotdish is a small scale production, and one of our chief goals is to reduce waste in production, manufacturing, and distribution. For this particular adventure, we will receive the materials, make the buttons ourselves, and then ship the buttons ourselves as well, reducing waste and removing several steps in the supply chain.
Is there any chance you won't get your buttons?
There are a lot of uncertainties for artists and creators right now, especially with ongoing supply chain issues. This project is planned to minimize the possible effects that might have on our budget or fulfillment timeline. As soon as we receive the funds from this campaign, we will be able to order all the supplies needed for fulfillment, limiting the window during which price increases can threaten the project.
Since we are not using third-party manufacturing or distribution, and the physical rewards we'll be sending out are small and lightweight, shipping price hikes won't come in to play too much. We are not currently offering international shipping for the perks that are mostly likely to be impacted by huge swings in shipping costs. We do plan to offer similar packages worldwide after the campaign has completed, when there will be less delay between receiving payment and having the product ready to send out.
The other risk we are anticipating is the physical demand of making hundreds of buttons by hand, particularly as creators with disabilities. We've had over a decade of managing our disabilities and knowing our limitations. Challenges in this area may delay fulfillment, but they won't stop us from getting rewards out in the end.
And, finally...
If you don't want buttons, you can support us through our other print and design services! Find out more at www.tabletophotdish.com.
Sharing the campaign on social media is a huge help to us as well!
