The science behind our filters
Our filters are tested by our development partner in a state of the art facility in New Zealand to measure filtering efficiency and ensure a high volume capture rate of undesirable particles.

We created a careful balance between filter efficiency (how many particles are captured) and breathability (how hard it is to breathe through the filters).
Our filters focus on comfort of use and offer minimal airflow resistance to allow use for extended periods of time without fatigue or discomfort, so you can walk around all day and even jog with Duo.
We are constantly developing new filters and improving our breathability and filtering efficiency. By supporting us, you are also contributing to our research. We can't wait to see how far we can go together.

Back in 2016, after witnessing the rising threat of air-pollution around the world, we started wondering why people weren't protecting themselves more against lasting, severe respiratory conditions caused by urban pollution.
We quickly realized that masks aren't very comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Masks are a necessity for virus protection and mitigation, as they play an equal role in protecting the wearer from spreading the disease as well as contracting it. Most cloth or surgical masks do not effectively filter ingested air, nor have proper sealing around the face, leading to unfiltered air passing through or around the mask.
We were inspired to found our company, Resprana, on the idea that everyone should have access to healthy air without inhibiting their daily lives.
For pollution, allergens, dust and other airborne particles, masks are uncomfortable and often ineffective, leading people to often opt for no protection at all. We decided to design and produce a minimalist solution that can fit with modern styles and allow the user to exercise, drink, talk and socialize with minimal interference.

Our commitment to safety
Our goal is to offer the most reliable and safest accessory companion. We use only premium materials to craft the Duos.
Our pod metals are all medical grade and chosen for their compatibility with skin contact. Stainless Steel and Titanium are some of the materials of choice for prosthetic implants, while gold is one of the most inert materials in the world, commonly used in jewelry.
We use medical grade silicone for the seals, which satisfies premium bio-compatible industry standards for prolonged skin contact.

We have been working on Duo for more than 3 years and are finally ready to bring it to market.
We have partnered with a sourcing supplier to assist us in setting up our manufacturing sources and logistics chain.

We have thoroughly vetted our contract manufacturers, and have started tooling development for our injection molds that will allow us to produce our filters. Our manufacturing process for the silicone and metal pods has been tested and validated during our pilot production run in Fall 2019.

Back in November, we carried a pilot release with over 100 beta testers, qualifying the pod production process, adjusting color SKUs and giving valuable feedback on the product to our manufacturing partners.

We've also recently completed qualification of the filter molding tool, the most critical and complicated part of our design. It was our priority to focus adequate resources into resolving the most complex items in our design first.

Funds from the campaign will allow us to pay for the remaining tooling investments we must make to mass produce our product. This includes custom tooling for the case, packaging and larger production tooling for the pods.
It will also allow us to pay for our cost of goods and the minimum order of units required to launch a production run.
