What I want to share
Earth Stands Still is a hardcover photo book reflecting my personal concept of transcendence. After two years of being in the works, I now have a prototype print – as you can see in the sample images – which I want to share with a larger audience. As the book is ready to be printed, I expect you will hold the copy in your hands on Christmas Day!
Over the span of these last two years, I poured my hearts, brains and energy into this carefully edited collection of photos of Earth Stands Still, all exposed on various trips to the West coast of France. The abstraction through long exposures, intentional camera movements, and lensless photography create an otherworldly, yet calm atmosphere. It is a labor of love, and I am sure you will appreciate this.

Why Crowdfunding?
In order to make Earth Stands Still available, I depend on your support: Your pre-orders are the only way to get the real book in your hands. By placing a pre-order, you help raising the money necessary to print 100 copies of this book. Your contribution will go directly into the printing costs – the countless hours I have put into this, all bills for traveling, film, processing, scanning, design software etc, which have piled so far, are covered by my personal resources.
What happens in case the funding excels beyond the target?
The here collected money will not be used to refinance my past expenses. Any amount above the target of €2400 – which meets exactly production and packing costs for 100 copies of Earth Stands Still will go into future projects.

Risks & Challenges
Quality: The test print is of excellent quality. Chosing the printing facility took several months (and several unsatisfactory test prints by competitors). I did this for a reason, as I want to offer a high quality photo book which stands out not only by its content. With Printzipia, I found a highly eco-certified, offset printing facility which offers a beautiful and unobstrusive matte paper.
Shipping: All books and prints will be shipped with a tracking number, and I will personally take great care of packing. As you can see from the timeline, I expect the books to be shipped early December, so you can hold it in your hands on Christmas Day. However, there is always the risk of delays I will do all I can to keep this as low as possible.
Campaign fails: In that case, Indiegogo will not charge your account. But I am sure we will not see this happen – I feel very confident about Earth Stands Still, and I am more than positive the campaign will be a success.
