Eazl began with a simple idea - that we can use art and music to change people’s lives. From small beginnings, Eazl has been growing steadily for almost a year. To get to this point, we’ve drawn on an amazing amount of support, with a diverse range of people giving their time, expertise, skills and talent for free. The response we’ve had from both sides of the Atlantic has given us a huge boost, validating our ideas and providing the encouragement we need to press ahead.

It’s now time for us to start rolling our projects out. This means real costs, in terms of high-quality printing, framing, shipping, logistics and venue deposits... as well as the odd cup of tea.

Providing funding through Indigogo will help turn our projects into reality, allowing Eazl to blossom and start making a real difference in people’s lives. Your support will confirm that what we’re doing has a real chance of success. We look forward to welcoming you into the Eazl community. Create, share, imagine!

Eazl was set up by a group of people with a vision to raise money for charity in new and creative ways. The unique thing about Eazl is that we focus on art and music as the primary vehicle for raising money, supporting working artists and musicians at the same time as funding important causes.

Focusing on distinctive projects that are all about doing something exciting and unexpected, we promote the creation of original art that will appeal to a diverse audience, as well as taking existing artwork and re-imagining it for a new era and purpose. In all our endeavours, we aim to take art into areas where it might not normally tread.

Many of our projects combine our shared passions for art and music. In the case of Eazl’s collaboration with some of the great American music artists, this takes the very literal form of art inspired by and depicting classic bands and performers. We are also planning a number of special music evenings that will see leading performers encouraged to take their music in a new direction. For these events, Eazl will work with artists to produce new, promotional artwork. Exhibitions will be staged on the live nights, allowing a crossover of music and art. At our standalone exhibitions and events, we aim to promote emerging musical talent, inviting guest musicians to perform, create an atmosphere and set the tone.

Working away in the background, Eazl’s small team of passionate individuals incorporates artists, writers and creative talents. As Eazl, we come together to brainstorm innovative ideas and develop them into viable projects and effective fundraising campaigns. All our projects are designed to produce a significant return for the charities we support. By selling  original artwork, prints and event tickets, Eazl hopes to inject new life into small charities that often struggle to raise funds on their own.

But, while Eazl’s ideas are great, funding is not readily available to kickstart our campaigns - and that’s where your involvement could make a huge difference.

In an age of austerity and government cuts, many small charities are struggling to survive. Eazl's aim is to provide such charities with new and innovative sources of income, giving them the stability they need to carry on their amazing work. Rather than looking for handouts, all our projects are designed to be worthwhile in their own right, offering those who invest in them access to the best creative talent, as well as the knowledge that charities will benefit as a result.

In our first year of operation, we have pledged to support just one charity, Upbeat Music (www.upbeatmusic.org). This focus will enable us to maximise the return we can give Upbeat, guaranteeing that we can make a real and effective contribution.

Upbeat is an inspiring mental health charity that supports people with mental health issues through the power of music. Based in London, Upbeat caters for working-aged adults, helping both people with no previous musical experience and professional musicians who are undergoing a difficult time. The charity organizes extensive courses, tutorials and group sessions designed to build participants’ confidence and to increase their social interaction. The programme provides a musical pathway for reintegrating into the community and reinstating a sense of purpose in life. Clients work towards open-mic sessions and special concerts, providing a new experience for novice musicians, while professionals are empowered to return to the stage and performing in public.

As Eazl grows, we hope to approach other small charities to become part of our fundraising family. In true British style, the Eazl team meet regularly with pots of tea and buckets of enthusiasm for brainstorming sessions, discovering and unearthing innovative ideas and looking at ways to develop them into funding opportunities. While we are based in the UK, our network and reach is global and we hope that, over time, Eazl can become a truly international initiative.

Current projects we’re working on include:

‘Art on a Plate’ brings together art and food in a unique way, celebrating the dishes of top chefs through painting. We are targeting a number of leading celebrity and Michelin-starred chefs with the aim of commissioning artists to turn their signature dishes into original artworks. The paintings will then be reproduced as limited edition, exhibition quality prints that will be signed by the chef and artist and made available for sale at special events and online.

Proceeds go to Upbeat and charities selected by the chefs.

For ‘Art on a song’, Eazl is planning a competition for emerging artists to create original artworks inspired by a famous song. We hope to launch 'Art on a song' in partnership with a top secret, internationally renowned band very soon. All proceeds will go directly to Upbeat.

Eazl are proud to represent five of the greatest music poster artists of all time - Bob Masse, David Byrd, Wes Wilson, Dennis Loren and Gary Houston. These amazing artists helped define the heyday of rock and pop, working with venues like San Francisco's Fillmore and giants such as The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix. Not resting on their laurels, they continue to work today, creating art for contemporary acts, such as the Foo Fighters and Mumford and Sons.

‘Art for Industry’ reproduces our music artists’ historic, original line drawings on individual prints, with the line drawn sketches displayed alongside the completed posters. We are offering these unique artworks to leading companies, with limited edition prints made exclusively available to staff members as a special charity initiative. The project will primarily be targeted at companies involved in the creative industries, as we feel that architects, designers, illustrators, film makers and other creative minds will be particularly attracted to these pieces of graphic art history.

We’re planning a variety of exciting events in 2013. The list includes bespoke music evenings with very special, guest performers drawn from Upbeat’s exceptional musical contact book. For each event, we will commission a new artwork to use as a promotional poster. The artworks will be exhibited at the events, alongside examples of our artists’ existing work. Art will then be auctioned on the night to raise money for Upbeat on top of the funds they receive from ticket sales. As Upbeat is a charity that revolves around music, these evenings will showcase the perfect synthesis of Eazl and Upbeat working together, with audiences enjoying the best art and music all in one place.

There’s much, much more set to happen, so watch this space...
