The film (short synopsis):
On an ordinary suburban street full of extraordinary characters, a battle of wills unfolds between a man, a postwoman and an elderly lady. The man must make a stand to reclaim his own letterbox. 'Eduardo Munez' is a dark comedy short about a man on the edge … and a lot of letters!

The story so far:
Have you ever received mail for someone you don't know?
In March 2015, our writer, Ruth Tapp suffered from a Spontaneous Pneumothorax (a collapsed lung) and required some pretty major chest surgery. While she was recovering at home, feeling sorry for herself, she began to receive mail for a mysterious 'Mr Eduardo Munez'. Over a period of a few weeks almost everyday at least one letter arrived for him. The letters were all different shapes and sizes and did not seem to be coming from the same sender... This sparked Ruth’s imagination – who is Mr Eduardo Munez? Why does he get so much mail? Ruth stopped feeling sorry for herself and got to work!
She put pen to paper and wrote 'Eduardo Munez' a short film inspired by the wrong mail...

The entire shoot was funded through this Indiegogo campaign – you can watch our original pitch video at the top of the page. Principal photography was completed on Eduardo Munez on the 9th of June, 2016.
The EM Team are now raising money for post production costs.
Why this film is important to us:
This film is personally important to our writer Ruth Tapp, who created it during a difficult time in her life, but it has grown to become so much more than any one person's project. Everyone in the Eduardo Munez team is committed to making a beautiful, quirky and totally unique short film. We genuinely believe you'll never have seen anything quite like it!
During the original crowdfund Ruth made a lot of friends in the world of Snailmail! She was inspired to set up a Mail Art project to accompany the film called The Eduardo Munez Letter Project, asking snailmail enthusiasts to send in letters to be used in the film as props. Incredibly the film received 489 letters from 35 different countries – every single one was used in the film! You can view all the letters on our Letter Blog here:

Why we need your help:
The good news is - we have already shot our film and the rushes look brilliant. We just need a bit of extra help to complete it so we can share it with our backers, letter writers and the rest of the world! We now need your help and support for the post-production phase. This covers editing, colour grading, sound design, foley, music composing, CGI and festival fees. Every penny we raise will be spent helping to make Eduardo Munez the very best it can be! Risks and challenges:
Since we have already shot our film the main challenge we face is raising enough money to finish the project. We are determined, however, to make it happen and produce a beautiful film that you will be proud to have been a part of.
