What is "Elbow Rocket"?

Elbow Rocket is a free weekly podcast two friends created in October to discuss what it's like living as a twenty-something right now, as well as their interests in areas such as video games, film, anime, and the going-ons of the internet. Check out new episodes here or check out our archive!

  • James & Jim have been doing online content since 2007. They've done youtube channels such as shitakemushroomninja, therealdrwilder, jakeojack and currently upload several times a week on famousquest!
  • This campaign is important for us and our podcast because we make fairly small salaries and want to keep our hobby going while not having to get hit by server costs and other related expenditures, since we don't profit at all from the podcast.
  • Contributors will help keep indie podcasting going, without restrictions like "how many episodes can we keep up for free" and "do we have to keep this episode short?"

What We Need & What You Get

So how much and for what and why?

  • We've set the goal as low as we can. On IGG, that's $500. We really need at least $100 so we're doing a flexible goal. What does this cover? Well, depending on a few server options we are exploring, this will cover 6 months to a year of server costs for the show.
  • $100 Ideal Server Goal
  • $200 Ideal Server + External Hard Drive Goal
  • $300 Ideal Server + HDD + Video/Audio Program(s)-related Goal
  • $400 Ideal Server + HDD + Video/Audio Programs + Improved Microphone Goal
  • $500+ All of the above, plus I'll start putting out a video version of the podcast on the youtube (this might still happen, but further down the road) each week.
  • We're trying to cover a few different bases with our perks. Tell us what to talk about, be a guest on our show, get a mention of practically whatever you want on the show, make a music choice for our ending theme and more!
  • Any funds we receive, even if we don't hit the goal, will go towards podcast-related costs. We haven't made a cent off of this and don't plan to.

The Impact

So why does this podcast matter? Can I trust it to keep going?

  • We cover multiple areas, so if you want a "IRL" podcast, we do that. If you want humorous coverage of video games, movies, anime, and the internet, we do that.
  • This podcast already has 9 episodes up all on our weekly schedule. We're keeping this going. Our youtube has had new content for over a year. We keep to our promise of updates and new content.

Other Ways You Can Help

If you can't contribute financially, PLEASE consider doing the following:

  • Get the word out about the podcast. Link people to this page, or to our direct podcast. Or to our youtube. Any of these helps get people interested and the more people that know about it, the more that might be able to spare a few bucks to keep us going.
  • Don't forget to use the Indiegogo share tools! And FaceBook, Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, instagram, myspace, whatever social media/online tool you prefer, we don't judge!

And that’s it. THANK YOU very much for your support. We can't wait to do more and hear from you guys.
