Fear Collecting Ritual: A Fools Journey
We all have fears. In a Fool's Journey, artist Lucien Shapiro begins a journey that offers guests the opportunity to place one of their fears into a vessel.
In this journey, Shapiro will travel to various regions across the country, performing
two interactive rituals that focus on the collecting and relinquishing of fear and
the journey of finding self and light, and screening a new film ANALECTS.
The project began with a
debut in Los Angeles, and will continue as he travels towards the East Coast from the West Coast. The event will
start with a film screening that takes on a see no evil, hear no evil,
speak no evil exploration of slowly losing the senses and an attempt to
regain what was lost, starring Lucien himself and his sculptures.
This project is entirely self funded, and all events related to it are free to the public. Additional funding from this indiegogo campaign will help the artist recoup out-of-pocket costs from the Ritual. In making the choice to back this project, you will help the artist continue to his last destination where all of the fears he collected on the journey will be relinquished in a final ceremony.

Lucien Shapiro's Film Screening and Ritual
The Analect Rituals is
a take on see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, and explores a symbolic
loss of speech, hearing, and sight. As each of the senses is lost, a different
mask is worn, and Shapiro goes on a quest for understanding in an attempt to
regain what was lost. This is a project filmed by Shaun Roberts and scored by
Edison, and is starring Lucien Shapiro and his artwork.
Symbolic of the continual
search for guidance along the path of life, the Light Collector Ritual
evidences the fact that the light we seek simply exists within ourselves. The ritual requires a constant circle of light, walking out of the
darkness one faces through the realization of the light held within, and the
journey does not end.
