Stand Up Man is a Korean Canadian feature comedy about fitting your dreams into reality.
Forced to move back to hometown Windsor, wannabe comedian Moses Kim finds his dreams derailed in his family restaurant. Life gets more complicated when Moses’ teenage cousin from Korea unexpectedly shows up.
This is the first feature film by director Aram Collier, and has been called an “unlikely love letter” to producer Tony Lau’s hometown of Windsor, Ontario.

We shot the film in May 2016 with the basic funding we received from Telefilm Canada’s Micro-budget Program. We are about to go into post-production for the film, and we still need $20K to finish the film and present it to the world. The $20K we raise from Indiegogo will go towards:
Post-production (things that make a good film look and sound GREAT): colour correction, sound mixing & sound editing, music composition, etc.
Distribution and Marketing (things that ensure many people can see this film): poster design, trailer, film festival submission fees, etc.
Indiegogo Campaign Fee: what we spend on creating the perks for this campaign.
Indiegogo Processing Fee: for every donation we receive, Indiegogo charges us 4% processing fee.
We want to be very transparent about two points:
1. The film’s entire budget – Some might be wondering, “What? They already got money from Telefilm and they are asking for more?” While we did receive support from Telefilm’s Micro-budget Program, the $120K that we received was spent on principal photography of the film. Filmmaking is costly, and the fact that we managed to shoot the movie with $120K is a remarkable feat. With a total budget of $140K, we still need 15% of the budget to come from crowd funding to help us make the film look and sound amazing, and to help us bring it to an audience.
2. If we don’t make our goal – If we don’t make the $20K goal, we will take what we raise here, do a recalculation of the budget, finish the movie with very minimum means. It would mean that we have to scale back significantly on how we hoped to polish the movie, the number of the festivals we submit to, and other things to give STAND UP MAN a chance to shine. It would mean a more difficult path – but at the end of the day, either way, we will finish STAND UP MAN.
We prepared many amazing perks for you that have great value. Below is a list of featured perks that are LIMITED in quantity. Donate and claim them now!
