Flashes of Light: The Tale of Nikola Tesla and the Goddess Electra
What if the most brilliant inventor of all time was secretly being assisted by a powerful goddess from another realm?
With book, music and lyrics by Billy Larkin and Ron Boustead, the new musical “Flashes of Light” brings to life the story of inventor Nikola Tesla and his muse, Electra, Goddess of the Storm Clouds. Set against the backdrop of the industrial revolution, this imaginative tale follows the life of a scientific genius who changed the course of history with a little help from a goddess on a mission.
Like Nikola Tesla’s great inventions, creating a musical about Tesla’s life takes capital. We need your help to support our next step: the production of a concert of songs from “Flashes of Light” at the historic El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, California on March 27th & 28th.
The music is a modern blend of Jazz, Pop and Rock with haunting melodies, heartfelt lyrics and soaring vocals. The concert promises to be an electric night of live music featuring some of LA’s top players and singers including musicians Billy Larkin, Gregg Karukas, Ernest Tibbs and Dave Tull and vocalists Devyn Rush, Payson Lewis, Ron Boustead, the a cappella group ARORA, and special guests Robbie Wyckoff and Arnold McCuller.
The funds raised will be used to cover the cost of the venue, insurance, musicians, singers and sound engineers, as well as a videographer and editor who will create a promotional video for our project.
“Flashes of Light” is currently a semi-finalist in the 2024 Eugene O’Neill National Musical Theatre Contest.
