Flic buttons will work up to 100 feet from the Hub. For comparison, the typical WiFi Router will work up to 150 feet. If you own multiple WiFi routers, then you should pre-order more Flic Hubs. You can pre-order as many as you need.

Configure advanced workflows by setting up Flic with IFTTT, Zapier, Microsoft Flow or even the HTTP request function in our apps to command anything you can dream of. All of these are available in iOS, Android and Mac already, and will of course be available for the Flic Hub as well.

If you know what you’re doing, you’ll recognize the structure of the Flic Hub. It’s basically an advanced Linux computer, much like a better-looking Raspberry Pi, with a two separate Bluetooth controllers (yep, two) for increased stability, excellent connectivity features and brilliant design. And yes, you can hack it as you please.

We’re not fooling around when it comes to security. No one has managed to break the Flic protocol, and trust us, they tried. The Flic hub security level is equally high. The Hub is password protected and can only be accessed with our App and the BLE communication between the two is SPAKE2+ encrypted. On the network side no ports are open to the outside world. All communication with our backend goes over TLS. That means no one will be able to reach your network from outside via the Flic Hub. Unless, of course, you give them your Hub password. Don’t do that.
