About
FOCUS (A COVID-19 Charity Zine) is exactly what the name suggests. We are creating a non profit zine (short term for magazine) with the purpose of helping those in need during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Our goal with this project is to bring ‘focus’ to the often overlooked positivity that occurred and is occuring during the COVID-19 pandemic: people reaching out to relatives, opportunity to pursue hobbies materializing, time for self care and self study appearing. In short, we hope to bring a bit of positivity during these relatively negative times.
In case you missed them, our socials are focuscharityzine on insta and tumblr, and zinefocus on twitter.

Chosen Charity
It is an understatement to say that COVID-19 has made an impact on us all.
With it being perhaps the most widespread and influential pandemic of the past century, it is now painfully clear how crucial of a role health plays in our daily lives and the importance of protecting it.
This is why we are excited to be donating to Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières). They are a Swiss-based non-profit charity whose goal is to bring doctors anywhere they are needed, ignoring restrictions that would usually be placed on them due to different governments, budget problems or other forces.
They've worked to provide COVID-19 relief in over 70 countries worldwide through volunteer-led expeditions; these accomplishments, along with our values to help struggling international individuals, made them the perfect choice to fund.
After covering creation, shipping and other budget costs, all of the money will go to ‘Doctors without Borders’,

Funding and Budgeting
While we plan for all of our profits to go towards ‘Doctors Without Borders’, we have several expenses that must be covered to determine campaign success.
Essentially our budget of 750 euros will pay for:

If we fail to raise the sufficient amount of money to cover our costs after the campaign ends, we will proceed to continue our campaign on eBay until the minimum production cost is covered.

Nice to meet you! This zine started as a passion project between three friends stuck during the first major lockdown in Spain. The negative news projected everywhere made us want to make a positive change, while somehow helping the relief efforts
Our team is made up of three creatives who just wanted to spread a bit of positivity during this pandemic. We’re all avid art-lovers and we figured this would be the best way for us to do our part to help out, even if we are quite new to zine making!
You can find our relevant social medias below our stylized doodles

Questions are welcome and help improve the project!

Thank You!
Last, but certainly not least, we’d like to thank everyone who has helped support this project! Whether you’re someone who’s interested in donating, someone who sent in an application, one of our zine artists, or just simply someone who helped us get the word out, we really appreciate every single one of you and couldn’t have done this without your support. This project has been many months in the making and, thanks to you, we’ve been able to do our part and hope to spread a bit of positivity along the way.
Special thank you to Nat Chang (@coldergeist on twitter, tumblr, instagram and carrd) for her endless support during this project. Without her insights, this would not have been possible and her kindness and expertise will forever humble us. Check out her involvement on other zine projects on her socials as well as her personal artwork.
Stay safe

By purchasing a zine copy, you will receive a magazine made by a multiracial team of creatives that will act as a positive momento for the otherwise unpleasant times while indirectly supporting medical professionals and the international virus victims that they are aiding. So thank you!
