Short Summary
We're In the Silence, a unique band from Sacramento California. Our sound is sometimes called Atmospheric Progressive Metal, similar to bands like Katatonia, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Anathema, Riverside, or even in some ways Tool, the Deftones, or A Perfect Circle. We have enough of the heaviness that metal fans enjoy our music, and enough melody, mood, and atmosphere that fans of Progressive Rock, Mainstream Rock, and Classic Rock enjoy it as wel, and there is a certain accessibility to our songs that helps them appeal to fans beyond those genres as well. At the core of everything we do is an emphasis on mood, feeling, energy, and poetry of sound. In 2013, we performed at the legendary ProgPower USA Festival, at Center Stage, Atlanta Georgia. We're signed to Sensory Records, and our first Album A Fair Dream Gone Mad has received great reviews, our fan base is growing, and while our label is able to help with some of the costs, we still need support from out fans to get our next album recorded. Studio time can cost quite a lot!
What We Need & What You Get
Our Label is going to cover the cost of mixing the album, manufacturing and distributing CD's, and promoting the worldwide release. What we need is enough money to cover the studio time to track the album at Fat Cat Studios in Sacramento. The studio costs $400 per day. We estimate it will take 15-20 days of studio time to complete 10 songs and have them sound amazing!
We aim to raise $7500, which should be enough to complete the album, and cover the cost of producing and shipping all the perks we're offering. If we raise more than that, or it ends up costing less than that, any money left over will go towards new merchandise for touring, and/or hiring a PR person to promote the release, or helping us to go on tour in the US and Europe.
We have a number of perks, from signed CD's, advance downloads of the first single, signed photos, handwritten lyric sheets, signed drum sticks and drum heads, having dinner and drinks with the band, or even spending an entire day in the studio with us and having your picture with us in the album booklet! You can even have one of the band members perform on one of your band's songs! Everyone who contributes will get an honorary membership in The Order of Silence fan club for one year, and all contributions of $5 or more will get an advance digital download off the first single. This is your chance to be a part of the history of In the Silence!
The Impact
We can't do this without your help. Time is of the essence. Our first album has done fairly well by current standards, but we know the next album can do even better, and the music we have written is going to be amazing! By contributing to our campaign, you're making it possible for us to achieve our dream, and put out great music that will be released worldwide. Risks & Challenges
Some of the perks will take time to deliver. We can't send out the new album until it's done, but it will get done as long as we reach our goal. Other than that, there is really no risk or challenge. You're helping a band with a lot of potential reach that potential, and if you're a fan of In the Silence, you'll always be able to tell your friends that you were a part of the making of this album!
