The Big Picture: Gummies is part of a wider, dramatic horror story - one that addresses LGBTQIA+ issues such as binary gender essentialism and gender stereotype enforcement.
Representation: The majority of our film crew are members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Tongues: Two versions of Gummies will be created, one in English and one in Spanish.

Making a film, even short films, are expensive. Your donation to this project will be spread through multiple departments including, but not limited to:

Gummies will be shot in the Domincan Republic with a Domincan Crew and Cast. It will also be shot both in English and Spanish! Having worked on 2 films as a Script Supervisor in the country, Renetta fell in love with the island and more importantly with her film family there.
In 2017 the Dominican Film Festival in New York used this statement as their slogan:
“Somos mas que merengue y bachata! Somos Cine!”

Coming off the success of her Directorial Debut, Processing. Renetta Amador is now ready to go forth with her sophomore directing effort Gummies written by award winning screenwriter Michael Clifton. Having met on the film festival circuit in 2021 where Renetta was winning awards, such as Best Director, Best Horror Short, Best Actor & Actress, Best Editing and Best VFX among others for her short film Processing, and Michael was winning for several of his screenplays, including Gummies, it is not surprising that a collaboration was born!
Renetta is no stranger to the film industry where she has spent 21 years as a Script Supervisor on such film as (500) Days of Summer, Marriage Story, 3 From Hell and Promising Young Woman. Now she is ready to further her career into Directing, where she can share her vision and also help to continue to break down the door for other Latina Directors.

Growing up gay on a hazardous waste site that’s home to the Mothman legend was a lot for Michael to take in. Stories of outsiders caught between real and imagined horrors are now his sweet spot. He's earned accolades from Academy Award qualifying festivals such as Raindance, HollyShorts, Cinequest, Nashville and Austin Film Festivals.
His horror screenplays have won top prize at FilmQuest, SF IndieFest, HorrOrigins, Nightmares, Vancouver Horror Show and Flickers’ RIIFF. The dark drama, LGBTQIA+ short Gummies is an Outstanding Screenplay Finalist, a Killer Shorts Honorable Mention and a top ranking horror short on Coverfly's The Red List. His writings on visual art have appeared in V Magazine and Encyclopedia Britannica.

Julia Franklin has been a part of the Mexecutioner Film Family since "Processing". She is an award winning Editor who works on the acclaimed show "American Horror Story."
Music Composer: Randy Weitzel:
Randall Weitzel is a GRAMMY® nominated songwriter, recording engineer, and touring guitarist for the multi-Gold selling band In This Moment. Randy also writes, records, and performs original music, ranging from rock and metal to acoustic and orchestral for tv, film, and multimedia. Fusing his hard edge sound with the dark and twisted tale of Gummies, Randy will be making his film debut as the Music Composer of Gummies.

Lamps Lampadinha is a re-recording mixer, sound designer and sound mixer, with 20+ years of experience working in the most diverse fields soundwise! With 5 Grammys under his belt, Lamps worked as a producer on radio stations, DJ in night clubs and recorded and mixed hundreds of records along with his career. Based in Los Angeles, Lamps can be found mixing films and chilling in the middle of a couple of IPA's"
