Who We Are
![]()
Hey there! We are Teneia Sanders-Eichelberger and Ben Eichelberger, otherwise known as the wife-and-husband duo Heart Society. In 2015 (under the band name Teneia) we sold almost everything we owned, moved out of our apartment, and started life in the Tiny Musical House, a 32-foot travel trailer crowdfunded by our fans. Since then we’ve toured North America, performed hundreds of shows for enthusiastic music lovers (like you!), and spread a heartfelt message of Love & Equality everywhere we’ve traveled. Now we’re gearing up to release Wake the Queens, an empowerment-focused album that we consider to be the best work of our career.

Wake The Queens is an album that powerfully dives into the emotional side of female inequality. It speaks to gender roles that are defined in society, and encourages all people to acknowledge their true selves, find their unique voices, and step into their power. We feel this is a message of utmost importance, and that learning self-love is critical to reversing unjust stereotypes in our society. We believe so strongly in this message that we are contributing 10% of our campaign proceeds to Equality Now, an international organization devoted to equality for women and girls. We would love your support to help this message and this album reach as many ears as possible!
Our Goal
Our initial campaign goal is $20,000, and 10% of the proceeds go directly to Equality Now. Here is how we will use your contribution:
Audio Mixing: Now that most of the audio recording is complete, mixing is the next big step in the production process. Luckily, we’ve got one of the best in the business on the job! Brian Eichelberger (Barcelona, Citizens & Saints, Kings Kaleidoscope, Minus the Bear) will be working his magic to ensure Wake the Queens sounds as incredible as possible.
Audio Mastering: Mastering is what separates great-sounding recordings from good ones, and the last bit of audio polish and leveling for Wake the Queens will be supplied by Levi Seitz at Black Belt Mastering.
Artwork: We commissioned Jackson, MS artist Adrienne Domnick to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art, which is now the album artwork for Wake the Queens. We think you’ll agree the result is as powerful as it is beautiful.
CDs: Still the most high-fidelity way to listen to Wake the Queens! We will manufacture an initial run of CDs to sell while we’re on the road, and potentially in stores. These are also available as an autographed contribution perk!
Vinyl: By popular demand! That’s right, Wake the Queens will have a limited release on vinyl. We will make our initial run of vinyl pressings with the funds we raise. These records will be individually signed and numbered copies, for those of you who want an extra special perk.
Shirts & Branded Merchandise: The Heart Society shirts are looking amazing! We can’t wait to see you sporting one with a big smile on your face. Free hugs to anyone we see in a Heart Society shirt!
Music Videos: The music video for the the first single “What’s On Your Mind, Kid?” turned out fantastic, and we look forward to making more! We will be enlisting the services of several different filmmakers to create a unique video for each song on Wake the Queens. Your support helps us afford the best talent available.
Publicity Campaign: Our impact is broader when more people know who we are! We will conduct publicity campaigns for Wake the Queens in various forms, including social media, print media, radio, and other mediums. Our goal is to have this album reach the ears of people worldwide!
Other Miscellaneous Expenses: While we are writing, recording, and producing new music, expenses keep coming! Fuel and maintenance for our truck; propane for the Tiny Musical House; repairs and maintenance for our guitars and equipment. You get the idea. Right now we are fully independent, fan-supported artists, and your contribution helps us continue to thrive!
Other Ways You Can Help
Even if you aren’t able to contribute financially, you can still Wake the Queens and help spread our message of Love & Equality!
