Dear Friends and Family,
I need your help.
As many of you know, I gradaute from Arizona State University this May, with my BA in theater. Making the decision to pursue my passion has made me truly value everyday and continue fighting to do what I love. Receiving my degree in theater has brought me one step closer to making a lifelong dream into a reality.
As a part of my training, I have been selected by Professor Micha Espinosa, professor of acting and voice at ASU, to attend “Bali: The Art of Transformation,” a two-week intensive training program in Bali, Indonesia.
This program will involve performance professionals and students from around the world. Our training will consist of voice work, movement, meditation, and traditional Balinese mask work. This will take place at the Bali Purnati Center for the Arts, a world renowned place of artistic excellence.
This is where you all come in. Since I am graduating and will not be participating as an active ASU student, I do not have the option to apply for financial assistance. The trip will cost me over $5,000. Thus far, I have raised $2,000 on my own and plan to continue working hard to save up; however, time is ticking and I do not want to let the financial burden take this opportunity away from me.
I have 2 months to come up with $3,000 if I hope to attend “Bali:The Art of Transformation.”
I reach out to you, my family and friends, for assistance. If you are able to contribute even a few dollars toward my trip, I would be grateful. Even a little goes a long way, and it adds up.
If you can't contribute, that doesn't mean you can't help. Please, share the link, and spread the word.
I will be creating a travel blog along the way, so you all can follow along with the trip and get a first hand look into Bali and my training process.
Departure is June 11th. Let the countdown begin!
With Gratitude and Love,
Ashley Kerin Martinez
