Connie The Conjurer is the story of Connie Caldwell, a young, violin-playing, shy girl from California. Her loving parents noticed early signs that Connie possessed the family gift of magic, and they decided that her eccentric grandma, “Mimi”, was the one to teach Connie all about it. So off Connie went to live with Mimi, down south, in the spooky town of Port Murky, Louisiana. Port Murky is inhabited by so many ghosts that it puts any haunted mansion to shame. Mimi feels that Connie can become a conjurer in time. Before that, Connie must learn to control her power to conjure spirits, to copy the ability of ghosts and to cast a proper spell.
Gaining supernatural powers isn’t the only thing that Connie faces. Connie has to manage her own “Social Anxiety” that keeps her from connecting to others which she so desperately wants. Moving to a new town is challenging for anybody, but especially so for Connie, whose fear of being judged keeps her from doing what she wants.
Luckily for her, Connie isn’t alone on this adventure. With Mimi's guidance and a colorful bunch of new paranormal friends, Connie embarks on a mission to help every spirit in Port Murky and help herself become the person she wants to be.

Connie The Conjurer is a series that deals with a variety of timely messages. While it may be a fun and spooky show, at its core it exposes how a child with social anxiety navigates the world. The real dilemma in this show doesn’t come from ghosts or monsters, but instead from Connie's own inhibitions. How she accepts herself and how others accept her "otherness" is a message that speaks to how diversity of every kind ought to be valued.
Battling social anxiety is personal for series creator, James Fairbanks IV. At Connie’s age, James grew up with social challenges and worked through them to find peer connections. Connie is a character that anybody can relate to, because everyone has entered a room not knowing what to say or do. Connie's vulnerability and honesty resonates deeply within each of our hearts.
