HEY

Hi, I'm Emily Poulis, the creator of Hereland.  Thanks so much for taking a look at our project! Hereland is an amalgamation of my time at art school. I wanted to create a story that would allow me to show viewers  where I learned to see the world differently, and to consider and study the lives of others.  In short, this is a project about you.  About how I see you.  About how others see you.  It is a story about the relationships we form with each other, and about how those relationships affect the lives of the people around us.

The narrative follows four students (Theia, Ivy, Lee, and Sam) through the day to day intricacies of their friendship.  The school they attend functions more like an art community than a university, and serves as a backdrop for the education that takes place in classrooms, and more often, in the apartments and personal spaces of the characters. This episode follows the story of Theia, an aspiring writer, as she deals for the first time with death, and by proxy, so do her three friends.
