THE STORY
A man named Felix Cabrera arrives at a mansion to pick up from his dealer Monty. There, he meets a woman named Sadie and it is revealed that Felix is an actor. Felix is invited to dine with Monty and his group of friends, who consist of hip artists and socialites. Felix feels that he won’t fit in, but joins regardless.
During the dinner party, Felix doesn't relate and cannot contribute to the hip conversation. His career as an actor is dismissed, and a traditional game is played that consists of reading famous and inspirational quotes. Felix is bored beyond belief and feels even more alienated, but the quotes become insane and obscene, causing Felix to question his hipness and even his sanity as no one seems to be laughing or noticing the increase in bizarre quotes.

THEMES
Hip Cat addresses the struggle and confusion of trying to fit in, of what is and isn’t cool. Felix’s accomplishments as an actor are minimized and made irrelevant in the company of hip artists who see the mainstream movie and television actor as an antiquated man who doesn’t belong.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
To make our film we've hired a professional film crew with the best equipment and resources. We have to take into account all production costs; equipment, film crew, make-up, costumes, props, catering, festivals, marketing. We have done our best to lower these costs as much as possible. We have worked hard to reduce financing requirements to the minimum, without compromising the integrity of our film. Please understand that this project is extremely important to us as we have the ambition to showcase it on the international film festival circuit.
HOW YOU CAN HELP US
By donating even the smallest amount of money, from $10 to $10,000, you will help us fund our project properly. We will be able to reward the hard working cast and crew, and enter the short film into the festival circuit. You can either choose one of the wonderful perks we put at your disposal or directly donate any amount you wish by clicking "Back it" at the top of the page. Most of all, you can help us by sharing this campaign! Share on social media, send it via email, talk to your friends about it, anything to get the word out. And of course, stay tuned for the final result; a hilarious and absurd short film, made by us. Thank you for any kind of help you can give us. We can't wait to start filming and bring life to this story. All of that will only be possible thanks to you.
