After becoming homeless, James travels across the city to see his daughter, Grace on her birthday.

He begs, borrows, and steals his way across the city to see her because he's not sure if he'll be around for her birthday the following year...

"Almost Home" will shine a light on homelessness in London, offering a raw and compelling narrative that explores grace and fatherhood. This film aims to start conversations, spark empathy, and foster positive change.

With the cost of living crisis and homelessness skyrocketing, these issues closely affecting the team make this a story that needs to be told now...

MEET THE CREW

Emmanuel Odusami   - Writer/Director - @EmanTheArtist

Experienced with the BBC, Netflix, Apple, and Gucci. Also privileged to manage film festivals and make documentaries about homelessness. Homelessness is skyrocketing and the cost of living crisis makes this a very urgent story and one that is close to my heart.

Cinematographer - @daniel_lillie_dop

Daniel has also been DOP on more than 30 commercial, music videos and short films for the likes of Adidas, Nike, Louis Dunford and Declan McKenna"

Producer - @hollybethgourlay

Hollybeth is a Scottish producer, who initially started as an actor, before transitioning into the behind the scenes world. She attended The New York Conservatory to study Film and TV. Credits include; 2023 BAFTA nominated short film, Bus Girl, Sandwich Man, Season 4 of Documentary Now!, Three Day Millionaire, Followers and Wider Than The Sky.

Production Manager - @dariusmg94

Darius is a versatile and experienced Production Coordinator who has worked freelance on many independent productions. He has tackled a variety of roles in the media industry and is excited to lend his talents to a heartfelt story that needs to be told.

Co-Producer - @MarkPaulDenham1

Mark Paul-Denham started his career as a professional actor at the age of thirteen, before moving into producing/directing/writing, where he has won many awards for each category.

The Impact

In 1966, the film "Cathy Come Home" caused the UK to change how it treated its poorest... Politicians came together, laws were changed in the UK, and the charity Crisis was formed. Currently, 1 in 50 people in London are homeless. Fatherlessness, the cost of living, and a rise in mental health issues mean that now is the time to tell stories like this again. This story has the power to change the way we see the homeless and each other.
