Short Summary:

Importance of Touch, sites specific work by Sandra Atkinson (in collaboration with dancers). The 30 minute work explores the notion of touch in all mediums in an age of technology. Investigating whether we as a society are more comfortable with touch technology rather than the human touch. We play with reaction, intention and connection through movement and music.

The Impact

The mission of Light Switch Dance Theatre is to perform in non-traditional spaces to provide dance to the general public. We want people to have the opportunity to view dance in a public space then have access to the performance but the choreographer, dacners and musicians to open up discussion about dance as an art. Touch is an important element to life and this piece explores that idea and we want the public to join in our discussion.
