From the Writer/Producer/ Star of the fan favorite short film,"Dance-Impaired" - Bob Tapp, comes his most ambitious project yet,"Introduction to the Tall Goofy Guy".
Using the distinctive still photography of Rebekah Garcia, the music of local artists, and Voice-Over Narration, the filmmakers will give audiences a glimpse of the life of a Midwestern man. A "Guy" who makes it thru this modern economic and technological society by stressing humor, hard work. acceptance, and always pushing forward towards your dream.
We are asking for $750 to cover the filming and editing of this project. We are giving ourselves 50 days to raise the funds.
This is the beginning of a character Film history is filled with action films and popular comedies that were based on the adventures of one character. They would continue later with new stories, or different locations for the character. They all had to start somewhere.
Bob Tapp is a divorced father of two (Phillip-23, and Emma-20) who lives in Racine,Wisconsin. He went back to school to get a degree in Marketing, after the movie theater he worked at 21 years, closed. Bob is currently a Sales Associate in the Pets and Paper Goods departments at the local Walmart.
Bob admits that with his personality traits and physical looks, he is a combination of Billy Bob Thronton and the animated character Goofy. Bob also admits that TALL GOOFY GUY is semi-autobiographical, but he was heavily influenced by the Marx Brothers films, the writings of Robert Benchley, and the T.V. series "Fawlty Towers", when he came up with the concept of the character.
This is a labor of love for Bob, and he would appreciate any financial support you could contribute for this project. You would be supporting independent film making, you would be encouraging work from the perspective of Wisconsin artists, and you would be making Corbin Allen's (18 months) grandpa a happy man.
