Synopsis
It Goes on All Fours follows Stephan, Kaiah, and Rauly on a Native-run hunting expedition in the remote Bulgarian wilderness.
Stephan, driven mad by the recent disappearance of his father, has convinced his likewise emotionally troubled friends that this hunting trip is exactly the sort of therapy they need.
But as the group confronts unsettling local rituals, enigmatic figures, and a fearsome monster, they slowly realize that Stephan might have gotten them tangled with dark forces far beyond what they imagined.
Stephan’s deepening involvement and growing greed boils over as he attempts to finish what his father started and steal the powerful secrets the leaders of this exclusive hunt possess.
This leads to a thrilling and thematic conclusion as the group is pitted face-to-face against the Skinwalker - a beast of tribal legend, and a manifestation of the price of rapacity.

The Monster
When watching a monster film, it’s expected that the main draw of the movie should be the design of the monster. The more unique and more terrifying the beast, the better.
Designed by renowned creature designer Keith Thompson, It Goes on All Fours features a “yee naaldlooshii” – a skinwalker, which has many specific design features to tell its story visually. Shackles leave marks on its wrists and ankles, pointing to the enslaved nature of the beast. It leaves frost where it steps, as its blood runs frozen from its torn-out heart of ice.

In Navajo mythology, a skinwalker is an evil witch capable of transforming between beast and human form. Our monster is stuck somewhere in-between the process, sporting a human face growing out of the front side of its’ vicious snout. When standing on its hind legs and peering at you from the darkness of the woods, you could mistake it as a fellow man… but once it goes on all fours, the beast reveals its true vicious nature.

Team Intro
![]()
Our team, led by the prodigious producer Martin Malinov, is a band of seasoned filmmakers and fresh-faced visionaries, bound by an unyielding passion for the macabre. With a shared love for spine-chilling tales and relentless innovation, we’re poised to drag you into the dark heart of 'It Goes on All Fours' and redefine your nightmares.
Erik V. Lund, the director of It Goes on All Fours, has this to say about the project:
"Since my early life, I’ve always been obsessed with telling horror stories. Living in a rather rural area, I would wander through the deep forests of the Utahn wilderness, dreaming of the sort of monsters that would weave my thoughts into nightmares. But these were just thoughts. It’s through the magic of cinema that I’ve been given a chance to make a monster truly burst from the dark horizons of the treeline.
It Goes on All Fours tells the tale of three friends whose bonds are tested on a hunting retreat when thrown against the strongest forces of nature - human greed, and a monstrous beast. Each of the main characters - even the fearsome Skinwalker - represent a value that's festered inside my head until their opportunity now to hunt each other for survival in this cerebral colosseum of a story.
In making this film come to life, I’m fulfilling not only my personal dream of telling horror stories to the world, but also paying tribute to the land that fostered my need to bring nightmares to life by representing a monster dreamt up by those who knew the land best."

Distribution
We are working on a festival acquisitions distribution plan and are already in discussions with a distributor actively seeking a creature horror film for international release.
It Goes on All Fours is set in Bulgaria, created by a Bulgarian producer and crew. With support from the Bulgarian Film Commission, the film is perfectly positioned to tap into the local market. Bulgaria hasn’t seen a locally-produced horror film set within its borders in decades, creating a unique opportunity. In fact, 11% of all cinema admissions in Bulgaria are for horror films, making it the largest horror audience in Eastern Europe and the 6th largest in Europe overall.
Our aim is for a theatrical release, beginning with a premiere at a genre-specific festival such as Screamfest or Toronto After Dark (a TIFF extension). From there, the film will be positioned to sell to distributors like A24, Shudder, or NEON. Alternatively, we are exploring streaming deals with platforms such as Netflix and Shudder to secure a domestic release.
At festivals, we will also target broader European and Asian territories to maximize international reach.
A festival acquisition strategy allows for a full festival run, generating exposure and press without requiring a significant marketing campaign upfront. This minimizes the marketing budget during the initial stages while ensuring the film garners traction and visibility among horror fans—the core audience for It Goes on All Fours. Genre festivals, in particular, will help build momentum and attract attention from industry insiders and dedicated horror enthusiasts.
To support this, we are partnering with Dr. Rebkah Smith (The Film Festival Doctor), who will manage festival submissions and lobbying. With her extensive experience, including securing Oscar nominations and facilitating successful film sales, she brings direct connections to major festivals, guaranteeing the film will premiere at a high-profile market festival.
Final Appeal
By backing 'It Goes on All Fours,' you’re not just supporting a film; you’re joining a community of horror enthusiasts and storytellers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the genre. We invite you to be a part of this thrilling journey and help us bring this nightmare to life.
