Our Story
Joshua Barker is an emcee, poet, singer, dancer, actor, and whatever else is necessary to advance the Kingdom of God and communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Joshua's latest addition to his resume is as producer, writer and director of a submission to the 168 Film Project based in Los Angeles, California.
168 describes itself as "a faith-based, worldwide incubator, in which teams make a short film in 7 days."
This year's theme is Second Chances, and our film is based on 1 Peter 1:14: "As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance."
Our film shoot will take place Friday, February 18 through Sunday, February 20. The completed film must be submitted by Friday, February 25th. All films screen at the 168 Film Festival March 31 -April 2, 2011.
The Impact
We desire to make an impact on the world for the sake of Jesus Christ by telling a story of grace and redemption and one man's journey as he faces the biggest decision of his life.
This film will be seen by thousands at film festivals throughout the world. It will not be hidden under a bushel but screened so all may witness a story of grace and of "second chances".
What We Need & What You Get
We have been incredibly blessed on this journey to making this film and we are so thankful. So many people and organizations have agreed to donate their time, their services and their equipment so that we can tell this story. We are trying to raise $1,200 broken down in the following ways:
Tickets to the festival for the Production Team and Principal Cast (20 at $20 each)..$400.00
Food for the volunteers during the shoot (3 days at $100 per day)............................$300.00
Additional equipment rental (microphones, cables, lighting) ......................................$200.00
Incidental expenses (makeup, tape, photocopies, dvds)............................................ $200.00
Transportation of Equipment (vehicle is free but we must pay for gas).......................$100.00
