Uniquely placed in the context of the past year's worldwide sense of struggle and isolation, Jukebox County's new album takes listeners on a moving ride into the world of musical introspection.
This is for YOU!

I'm Rich Tyo, the creative mind behind the songs and vision of Jukebox County. This album was directly inspired by my experiences out on the streets working as a mental health crisis worker, developing music-based mental health programs for youth and adults, and being witness to life’s hardships and the will to overcome through hope, compassion, firm grounding, and connecting to one’s passions above all else.
Drawing from influences such as Neil Young, Nick Drake, The Grateful Dead, Velvet Underground, and The Beatles, this new album (Inner Space/ Outer Space) contains deep dialogues about what makes us human and how we cope with the questions that come with our existence.
In short? This is for YOU.
This is for all those trapped in isolation and looking for meaningful forward motion.
This is for the older psychedelic rock hippie looking for new inspiration. The holistic health lover wanting to touch base with her roots. The noxnbinary teen or young adult passionate about mental health issues.
This is a work straight from the heart, to create hope, connection, introspection, and joy.
By Community, for Community
The songs and artwork in this album were inspired by community experiences and musicians in Kingston and Wolfe Island.
Inner Space/Outer Space was recorded here at our local Wolfe Island Records Company with the fantastic help of Hugh Christopher Brown. All of our work directly supports mental health work and wellbeing in Ontario.
The album is done and ready to roll, so...
Why are we looking for contributions?
- World-changing music isn't cheap to make. Over 15K has gone into the creation of the work already, from branding to marketing and producing. The experience itself? Priceless. We are hoping to cover the base costs to source this music to all who need it.
- Contributions will allow us to press vinyl.
- All of our funding goes directly toward work that supports positive mental health action.
- You have inspired this project and been there along the way, whether you knew it or not - we want to give you a chance to invest in this and make it yours!
The Worst-Case Scenario?
This campaign is to cover our expenses in marketing, producing, and shipping this music. Right now, all of the costs have come out-of-pocket during a year that has been notoriously TOUGH on musicians and artists.
We need your support now more than ever.
COVID-19 has devastated the art and music production industries, making it extremely challenging to get music made and delivered to the people who need it the most.
It has also been a record year for mental health crises, abuse, and community pain.
The world needs this music right now. Our friends need this music. Our communities need this music.
Ultimately, we will do whatever it takes to get this album to the people who need it most. But with your help, we will reach more and make a lasting difference.
Please donate if:
- You believe in the power of art and music to heal.
- Mental health is deeply important to you.
- You've seen the negative impacts of COVID-19 within your own community.
- You're ready to make change.
- You want to directly help others through one of the toughest years yet.
Help us reach more people!
If you can't make a financial contribution right now, that's okay! Take action now to share this campaign or reach out via social media if you believe in what we do. This music is still yours.
