Short Summary

There are more than 300 million street lights around the world that cost more than 40 billion dollars to run. These lights release more than 100 million tons of carbon dioxide every year. (Carbon Dioxide is the main cause for Global Warming.) Sadly, still, billions of people do not have access to the power grid and public lights. Free and clean energy is all around us, but we do not have the right infrastructure in place to produce that energy.  We want to change that. And we have an idea on how to do it.

Our company, EngoPlanet is a clean tech startup from New York City. We have developed the World's  First Smart Street Light powered by footsteps and the sun. We combined two clean and free energy sources to provide light and electricity. We have installations in Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Saint Louis and Oman where people are benefiting from these free & clean energy solutions.

So How Does it Work? Kinetic pads are installed near our EnGoPlanet Smart Street Lights, which harvest energy from pedestrians footsteps every time someone steps over them, while specially designed solar panels utilize the energy of the sun.

All power is produced by clean energy, stored into the batteries which provides free and bright lighting during the night . Each EnGoPlanet Smart Street Light also provides a free WiFi connection and a Charging Station for mobile phones.

We want to invite you to join us on this exciting project! By installing EnGoPlanet Smart Street Lights in 10 areas that lack electricity access in Africa, we will help those who live in the dark and disconnected from the rest of the world to light up their roads, get access to WiFi and finally have an option to charge a mobile phone; which will help them to stay connected. (In many areas in Africa they have to pay astronomical fees to charge a mobile phone!).

What We Need

In order to produce, ship and install EnGoPlanet Smart Street Lights for 10 areas in Africa we need to raise at least $300,000.00. The collected money will be specifically used for the production, shipping and installation of at least 60 units.

In the end of the campaign we will send an email to all our supporters and backers with more information on the 10 areas in Africa where EnGoPlanet Smart Street Lights will be installed. We will tell you more about each place, how people live there and why they need our Smart Street Lights.
