Story of LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0 by Jill Fredenburg
My name is Jill Fredenburg, and I am the author of LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0!
*EDIT* The goal of 6,000 was decided upon before COVID-19 impacted the United States. Any funds raised over $4,000 will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations' COVID-19 initiatives!
I wrote this book to celebrate LGBTQ+ stories and explore how identities can layer beautifully together. I was compelled to write this because I felt that, while there are so many wonderful guides to LGBTQ+ language and identity in general, I hadn’t seen a compilation of stories from queer folks. I didn’t have representation of pan and bisexuality growing up that wasn’t hugely sexualized - I barely have it now. This book attempts to do that - to bring spectrums of sexuality, gender, and romance together in one collection.
In this book, you'll learn about the way we often talk about Bisexuality and Pansexuality, and how many people use "Queer" because the traditional definitions haven't worked quite right. You'll read conversations about how:
- Asexuality is often left out of the conversation
- It is still more difficult to be Out in certain parts of the USA
- Queer people in a "hetero-presenting" relationship are still Queer
You will love this book if you are passionate about the LGBTQ+ community and its progressive momentum.
LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0 is a non-fiction book that speaks to Queer people and individuals who are looking at this huge, multifaceted community and its many layers for the first time.
LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0
The book is written in 3 Parts....
Part 1 contains the introduction and information "How We Got Here - LGBTQ+ History, Stories of Activism, and How Celebrity and Media Impact the Community."
Part 2 details some of the issues we struggle with as a community. Coming Out is still a terrifying expectation regardless of who surrounds us. There is often a very cis and white presentation of who is an "acceptable" Gay person. And our obsession with vocabulary can sometimes send us into spirals of pain and confusion. Despite these problems, young Queer people are learning more every day and taking ownership of their identities.
Part 3 shares narratives of wonder, exploration, empowerment, and love. From questions about stirring the pot when you could easily "pass," to layering Queer identity with religion, these stories capture the vivid nature of Queerness in 2020.

Risks and Challenges
The biggest challenge with publishing a book is delivering the finished book to the backer, specifically my mailing of the book to you. I have eliminated this risk by building into the campaign the mailing and shipping costs of your signed copies to you within each pre-order tier.
The risk of delivering the pre-sale copies of my book is contingent on the publisher we use. I will be working closely with New Degree Press to make sure we get the earliest possible ship date of the signed book copy to you. We will keep all pre-sale backers up-to-date as my book hits each key milestone and publishes. You will know when the copies of my book you pre-ordered are expected to ship.
Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just can't contribute, but that doesn't mean they can't help:
Please share my pre-sale campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn with your friends, family, and network. Please use #LGBTQRevolution and tag me as well as my publisher, New Degree Press, so we can help amplify your efforts.
You can easily share my pre-sale campaign Page via Indiegogo at the top of the page.
Please share my book to 5 friends, family members, or co-workers who you think would enjoy it. Please do this as a text message or Direct Message on social media.
Thank you so much of all of your love and support! This has been the most rewarding, memorable project of my life, and I can't wait to share it with you.
