Hi, my name is Alara Bereket and I am a student who decided to take on this crazy film production for her thesis. 

I am a student at the New York Film Academy. I grew up in Istanbul, then went to high school in San Diego. Now I am looking forward to filming my thesis. I love making comedies and my goal is to make people smile. 

This movie is about a young boy named Denis who wants to overcome his fear of the ocean so he can surf. The point of this film is to show how a child’s bravery and determination can overcome deep-seeded fears and reveal the world to be even more magical than he imagined.

This funding that I’m requesting is required to cover many expenses involved with the safety of the cast and crew. Having minors on the set requires special attention to ensure these precious actors stay safe and warm. The main things left to pay for are:

- Stunt coordinator
- Life guard
- Jet ski
- Workers compensation insurance
- On-set education resources for minors 

My wonderful parents have already graciously provided as much of the funding as they possibly can – I will be in debt to them for a very very long time.
