Love, Carol is a project Kate Dailey, Suzanna Toole, and Josefina Anderson came up with during quarantine as a way to keep their creative juices flowing, share some laughter during a time that's been tough for many, and instead of sitting around waiting for opportunity to knock, these ladies decided to kick down the door. This has been an extremely empowering process and they're thrilled to be able to give opportunities to other creatives in the industry.
Love, Carol is about a woman that has it all: the house, the husband, the job... but not the friends. Can a cryptic office e-vite and an unconventional party plan change that? This comedy explores the importance of female friendship, connection, and being confident in yourself. Something that every woman can relate to!
Your help in funding this project will mean so much to us, as it is our first short film, our passion project, and a way to create opportunities for other creatives in the industry. Your contribution will help us make this film look professional, which in turn will help us be more competitive in film festivals and letting us share this project with the world.

Writer/Producer/"Carol"
Kate Dailey grew up in a small town in Minnesota, but now considers the south her home. She previously studied acting at the Moscow Art Theater in Russia, as well as at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland before switching to a film & television focus with the Mornell Studios in Atlanta. Her most notable roles to date have been on the films, Awaken and Heir of the Witch, both releasing next year, with recent television credits on Homicide Hunter, Your Worst Nightmare and The Encounter. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, sewing historical costumes, and spoiling her rescue Doberman Pinscher, Ripley.
This is Kate's first writing project and she's thrilled to work with this team!

Writer/Producer/"Madeline"
Suzanna Toole was born and raised in Georgia. After graduating from UGA, she moved to Los Angeles where she began acting and performing improv comedy. Since moving back to Georgia, she's been studying with Sara Mornell at Mornell Studios and working on her own projects. She's currently writing and producing a pilot, and this is her short film writing debut. When she's not acting or writing, you can find her being super lazy on the couch with her dogs. She's so excited to work with the talented Love, Carol team.

Writer/ Producer/ "Debbie"
Josefina Anderson was born and raised in Northern Virginia. Acting has been her passion since she was 2 years old. She remembers as a young girl making her family sit around and watch her perform monologues each Christmas (sorry mom and dad!). Her parents saw her persistence and love for the craft so they decided to signed her up to take theatre lessons at The Little Theatre of Alexandria and the rest is history! After attending Auburn University (War Eagle!) she moved to Atlanta where she was signed with an agent and began her acting career. You can see her in the upcoming movie, The Violent Heart, starring Mary J. Blige.
Currently she resides in Nashville with her husband and golden retriever, Charlotte. In her free time, you'll find her playing with her pup, exploring the city with her husband, re-reading some of her favorite books, and watching her favorite Real Housewives episodes. She's excited to work with the team on Love, Carol!

Director/ Producer
Alec James is a director, actor, screenwriter, producer, and songwriter from small-town South Carolina. Like most multi-hyphenates, Alec sees all his different titles as pieces of the same pie: storytelling. He believes that storytelling is ingrained in our DNA as a species, and that it's our responsibility to tell our stories. Having worked on both sides of the camera, Alec knows what it takes to make a film set operate smoothly and efficiently. As an actor, his most notable roles have been in the feature films Inheritance (2020) starring Lily Collins and Simon Pegg, and Reckoning (upcoming) starring Richard Dreyfuss. He's also written, produced, and starred in several short films, the most notable being his 2019 apocalyptic drama Where the Wicked Go. As a writer and director, he's currently in pre-production on multiple short films, as well as a sci-fi television pilot. Alec is excited and genuinely honored for the opportunity to work with this incredible group of female filmmakers on Love, Carol.
