Hi everyone, my name
is Melia and I’m a guitarist, singer, songwriter from Rochester, NY. I grew up
listening to and watching my grandparents play in a local jazz/big band so I’ve
always had a strong connection to music. I was writing lyrics and poems at a
young age. I began playing guitar at age 16 with dreams of becoming a lead rock
guitarist. Despite the negative feedback I received about being a lead
guitarist, especially in rock, I continued on working to make my dream a
reality. The negativity and the late start fueled my desire and I would
rehearse as many as 8 hours a day, determined to prove them wrong! #GIRLSROCKTOO
I completely financed
and released my first EP “Soundproof Walls” in 2011. Strong influences in my
music come from bands like Green Day, Nirvana, My Chemical Romance and Joan
Jett to name a few.
I have been playing live
shows of my original music along with my backing band for the last few years. It’s
a great feeling to be up on stage
playing my songs and connecting with the audience and even more fulfilling to
hear fans say that I’ve inspired them, especially young girls. I have been fortunate enough to open for bands
such as Steve Vai, Halestorm, Twenty One Pilots, New Politics and Fuel as well as many
other national acts.
Being a
do-it-yourself artist can be challenging. In the last couple of years I have written
well over fifty songs and I'm ready and excited to make my next EP but I
can’t make this new EP without your help! Please help me continue to do
what I love and continue to inspire others in music!
What I

In 45 days, my goal
is to raise $10,000 to fund this EP. Your donations will help pay for the
producer, musicians, mastering, cd duplication, artwork and distribution.

If I don't get total
funding then I will do what I can with what has been raised and at least have
something to start this process with.
In the event extra
money is raised and depending on the amount, it will go towards touring (I've
heard from so many of my wonderful fan base to tour their cities!),
and hopefully a new video.

I know that times are
