Help the Widows Come Alive!
Midnight Widows aims to be two things: first, a kick-ass comic book about lesbian vampires versus zombie serial killers; and second, a love-letter to the horror genre in all of its manifestations. Its principal creators are avid horror fans who have drawn upon a wide range of influences from the genre including Gothic literature, German Expressionist cinema, 1950s US horror comics, horror manga, Italian fumetti, zombie movies, 1980s pulp paperback horror and more. We hope that, if you are a horror fan, you will find something to appreciate in Midnight Widows no matter your specific tastes.
The comic has already had a trial run, with the first issue having been serialised in Belladonna magazine in 2017. The time is now right for Midnight Widows to be launched as its own title, and by backing this campaign, you will help us to achieve our initial goal of publishing three issues of the comic. If this campaign is a success, then we plan for future issues to follow, exploring new areas of horror: with your help the Widows can be immortal!
Due to its violence and overall raunchiness, Midnight Widows is recommended for mature readers.

The Team
Doris V. Sutherland is the writer of Midnight Widows. She has a love for the horror genre in its various manifestations, an affection that she hopes to put to creative ends in building the world of the Widows. As a contributor to the Doctor Who tie-in line from Big Finish, Doris has past experience with quasi-immortal people fighting monsters. You can tweet her @DorVSutherland.
Marcela Hauptvogelova is the inker and colourist on issue 1, and the main artist on issues 2 and 3. Marcela will be your guide to the world of the Widows and the horrors that lurk within.
Rosie Wigg is the main artist on the first issue of Midnight Widows. An animator as well as a comic artist with a range of personal projects on the go, Rosie brings a quirky, distinctive visual style to her chapter in the Widows' story.
Jio Butler is the colourist on issues 2 and 3 of Midnight Widows. Her other projects include Hellicious, a comic series recently published by SBI Press.
Delia Mihai painted the gorgeous cover art for issue 1 and will also be chipping in with issue 3 as a guest artist.
Wendy Browne is co-publisher and will help out with the financial side of the comic.
Stretch Goals
While we have no definite stretch goals, excess money will go towards funding further issues of Midnight Widows.
Risks & Challenges
The team behind Midnight Widows have varying degrees of experience in the field, and a number of factors involved in its completion will be new to us. There is always the chance that things might go wrong, particularly when it comes to printing and distributing physical copies of the comic. However, in the event of delays or other problems, we will strive to keep in touch with every backer affected and ensure that they go away satisfied with their experience.
