Music is Life is calling for support to achieve an ambitious £10,000.00 worth of funding which will see 4 courses being run across the region (Dingwall, Elgin and Inverness).
The aim is to fund 4 quarterly courses with 2 courses in Inverness (one in partnership with Birchwood Highland), 1 course in Dingwall and 1 course in Elgin.
The course was put together by myself (Steve Robertson) I am the Managing Director of an Events Management and Promotion company based in the Highlands of Scotland, I was born and raised in the Highlands and as a young person growing up in the 90’s I struggled to get involved with music with events being few and far between to gain experience and opportunities.
Two years ago myself and my team at TwentyTen developed Music is Life, an 8-week skill course aimed to help young people in the community.
Music is Life has previously shown great benefits with a track record of working with Birchwood Highland an Inverness based mental health recovery charity and receiving funding from Highland Youth Arts Hub to work with young people in the Inverness area earlier this year.
By supporting this campaign, you will have a chance to make a difference in the lives of both young people in the community and Birchwood Highland service users.
How? Well, you choose. Perhaps you want to experience what it’s like to be a roadie and work backstage for the day at a TwenyTen event of your choice or you want to grab a ticket to an upcoming TwentyTen event at a discounted price – not only do you get you to enjoy a concert at less than a face value but you get to support your community whilst you do so. We also have an exclusive download bundle with some of the hottest emerging acts from the Highlands and beyond!
There is also a sponsorship package available for socially conscious businesses that want to invest in their communities.
What will do with the funding?
Each course costs £2,500.00 to run, that enables us an opportunity for 80 young people and 20 Birchwood Highland service users to take part in the Music is Life course at a cost of £100.00 per participant.
The costs of each course breaks down as £1,000.00 budgeted to run a final concert at the end of each course, £750.00 budgeted for workshop space and £750.00 budgeted for delivery of each course from mentors and coaches.
Any additional money raised will be invested into future Music is Life projects within the Highlands & Moray.
The Crowdfunding project comes with a series of rewards for the general public and businesses alike that include a range of creative incentives including the opportunity to be a roadie for a day to business aimed sponsorship packages that are aimed at all budgets.
