Imagine....
a school where the students run in excited to begin and are slow to leave
because of the great day they have just had!
Imagine.... a school where there is truly mutual love and
respect.
Imagine.... a
school where the parents learn, grow and are celebrated.
Imagine.... a
school where academics at the highest level are taught to all students
beginning at many starting points and abilities.
Imagine.... a
school where the whole person is addressed, mentally, emotionally, physically
and spiritually, including the development of a firm Biblical worldview.
Imagine.... a
school where athletics and extra-curricular activities are a reflection of that
same Christ-Centered worldview.
Imagine.... a
school that becomes a community center sharing the facilities with the region.
Imagine.... a
school providing homeschooling families with ala carte courses,
sports programs and activities.
Imagine.... a
school that is so supported and endowed by a community that all students
and families will be able to participate if they wish.
Imagine…. a
school that eliminates generational poverty in an economically poor area!
Imagine.... a
school that will help change our community for generations to come!
We
believe we are called to establish a Christian Academy, grades K – 12, where these
dreams become reality! To accomplish this, we are purchasing
60 plus acres for the establishment of New Covenant Christian
Academy. We have already raised $60,000 towards the purchase price of
$200,000 and thus are in need of an additional $140,000 to turn this vision
into reality.
Please join us by donating, no matter how small the amount, and praying
for the vision to become a reality.
This effort is being led by Fresh Wind Christian Community for the benefit
of everyone in the northwestern corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula and the
school will welcome and support Christians of all denominations.
Fresh Wind Christian Community is a "missional" church in Benzie
County, Michigan. Five years ago, we began our outreach with a
community food pantry and six guests attended our opening. As of
November, we are serving over 600 people a month in our pantry and
providing free hot meals 4 nights a week to almost another 600. In addition to feeding the needy in our
community, we provide an "Aftercare" program for those returning from
prison/jail, or recovering from addictions. We
also have successful Teen and Young Adult programs open to
all area youth.
Given the
significant problems in our area with generational poverty, teen pregnancy,
drug and alcohol abuse, and teen suicide, we now believe that the creation of
this new Christian school is our next step in serving Christ in our area and we
would greatly appreciate your prayers and financial support in this
effort. God bless! :-)
