What if you're running for president of the United States and your brother is accused of murder and kidnapping. What would you do? Would you try to cover it up?
What if you're the chief homicide detective and best friend to the senator. Would you arrest his brother?
What if you're the murderer. Would you try to silence the brother because he may be the only witness to the crime?
These are the many questions facing the main characters in my novel, Nighthawk. This is a story
of three old friends who grew up together, and are now caught up in a web of
lies and deceit that threatens the foundation of their friendship and the
future of our country.
Senator Neil Peter Smith must leave his presidential campaign to
return to his hometown to help in the fight to clear his brother's name. The circumstances dig up a past Senator Smith
has long been trying to keep buried.
Lies are told and loyalties are tested as the small town of Gainesville, Florida
starts to wilt under the glare and pressure of a relentless press trying to
uncover the biggest political scandal since Watergate.
Set against a backdrop of racism and organized crime, Nighthawk provides the perfect dose of
greed, betrayal, infidelity and redemption.
It is a race against time as the election, friendship and truth come
dangerously close to the point of collapse.
As a native of South Florida,
I have enjoyed many professional and personal experiences including serving as an aide to a US Congressman. I hope my life experiences add to the dynamic quality of my story. This is the end of a two-year journey. Publishing my first novel will fulfill a lifelong dream.
