LOGLINE
Two painters find out their abilities amplify from the others' physical touch. After building their whole careers around their relationship, they must figure out how to rebuild their careers- and lives- after their tumultuous breakup.
WHY DO WE NEED THIS STORY?
Artists Need Artists
The story shows that art is independent of any relationship, trauma, personal life, and it truly comes from raw human emotion. A lot of people forget what the true inspiration for art is, and that is life.
Artistic Independence
This artist learns that her success is independent of her ex-boyfriend and that her own art has it's own value. Everyone has their own measure of success - especially when it comes to artwork- so this story explains that art can come solely from the artist, and isn't reliant on anything else.

Color Palette
The color drastically changes with the protagonist's state of mind as well as the timeline in the film. The film is split into two parts, the past and the present. In the past, there are a lot of warmer hues, indicating the happier and successful time in Abigail's life. This is also indicative of the overall aesthetic that is in her art. The present lives in colder, more saturated hues. This reinstates Abigail's state of mind as she goes through her "Dark Night of the Soul" moment.
File Formats
As previously stated, this film will explore past and present timelines and the best way to explore this timeline is through the differentiation of film format.
16mm: The format we chose for the past is 16mm, emphasizing saturated colors and grit. 16mm's properties of extensive zone range and grittiness will help tell Abigail and Emmett's story. (4 min/pages) Estimated film rolls - 2 rolls of 500T 7219
Digital: We chose digital format for the present, which will help show Abigail's state of grief from a clear perspective. This format will also have more density and range of low light that will contrast with the 16mm. (5 min/pages)
Production Design:
Since this film is about two professional painters, having top tier production design is extremely important. Production design is going to be maximal, and be used to display Abigail's state of mind in the 2 different timelines through colors, textures, and framing. Our painter, Jessica Murr, will use her artwork to coincide along with the story of Abigail's journey overcoming her artist's block.
