Pluto Wireless can charge through phone cases up to 3mm thick, so there’s no need to pull your case on and off every time you want to charge.

Pluto Wireless has taken craftsmanship to new levels, following the curves of the design right up to elegant corners. Made with the essentials of good design, the device uses premium aluminum blended with luxurious fabric and high-end technology for a seamless, fast charging experience. The fabric is specially engineered to resist scratches, and colors and materials chosen after research to reflect light for the most appealing looks. Assembly without the use of screws lends the device an exceptional touch and feel.

Technically, Pluto Wireless satisfied strict standard expected of today’s gadgets. The case is 100% aluminum and comprises a 10,000mAh Lithium Polymer cell with 10W wireless output. Protection against overheating, overcharge, and surge protection is in-built. The device carries USB-C and USB-A ports, and features a cool LED charging indicator. An additional feature is priority charging, which allows the phone to be charged first and not the device when it is plugged into an adapter.

Risks and challenges

It has taken 2 years to be where we are today, and it has been extremely challenging from a design and development perspective to achieve such great battery performance in a compact iconic design.

The research and development of the Pluto Wireless has reduced the risks substantially. Now, what is left is to bring everything together starting off with tooling (the molds for the Pluto). Some samples then ought to be tested to start production of the first batch.

Even though we have reduced the risk significantly, there are still inherent risks that we cannot ignore. The two main risks that we foresee are: the inner space of the product and shipment of individual products around the world.

To reduce the risk and challenges, we have collaborated with the best manufacturers and engineers in order to perfectly fit all the components inside the unibody case.

The last challenge is getting the individual product to each of our Kickstarter backers – with tighter restrictions on the shipping of singular products that contain batteries around the world today. Our in-house logistics team has spent a considerable amount of time searching to find a logistics partner that has a proven track record of dealing with this issue and we believe we have greatly reduced the challenges involved.
